Description So I finally got to make something other than the arm cannon. This one was a lot of ufn to amke. It's made of pink hard insulation foam, wood dowel, Plastic skull, fiberglass resin, bondo, and a lot of sweat blood and tears. Had a lot of fun making this but sanding it smooth was a major pain. oh well it turned out pretty sweet and weighed in at a little over 3lbs. fun times.

First off. It looks really nice. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/> My little critique that it looks TOO nice. Its a weapon and it should look a bit used or weathered. Some well placed scratches along the blade or let some metal show through on the spikey part of the sword. I don't know if this sword is from something or an original character but it looks really well done. Maybe darken up the skull too, like you did to the sharp part of the blade. I'm thinking a brown to complement the bone colour.

P.S. I don't critique much so I don't want to sound too "Do this, do that" Hope this helps e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Thanks for the critique! It always helps to get other people's opinions. I find I get into tunnel vision mode and it always helps to broaden that vision. This version was from a anime series and the person who commisioned it did not want it weathered. I thought a little battle damage would be nice but they wanted the fresh new out of the box look. I definatley love your ideas on where to weather it though. One of my many flaws is trying to figure out where to do damage and weathering. Again thank you every critique only helps me make better props!

Yeah, the sharp edge is supposed to be gold, but that's really good! Great job!

Is it? well it makes sense since the character is black gold saw right? The person who commisioned it only gave me one picture of the figma edition action figure. the couple other pcitures of it I found didn't really look gold though. You can't see it but there is some gold spattering in the blade. I did aluminum spray first, then gold spray lightly and then metallic black lightly as well. I wish I took a couple more pictures of it in the light before I sent it out but I ran out of time and needed to get it packed up and shipped out before the dealine.

Ohh, well that's all right then. It's still really good either way, hope they like it!

d'oh! I have to say the pcitures of the figma action figure don't really look gold. I did do aluminum spray first with a light spattering of gold then a light spattering of metallic black but it didn't really show in this pic. I wish I took more pcitures of it in the light but I had to get it packaged up and shipped out to meet the deadline. Oh well. Well If you want I can make your a proper colored one and get some good pictures of it this time.
