Time played with her.It let her return to that place. It let her watch. Again and again.
The affection of a vixen to someone - as long as this affection comes from the depth of her heart - is the most special love one can imagine. it has been told like that.
what she saw was this being - the way he walked, the way he talked, the way he smelled and how he sensed the world around. how could someone be so different, yet so alike? (oh, the irony. time, yet again, you fooled me.)
her confusion - heartbreaking.
sure - she understood that it was affection, but she didn't understand why - why it came like that. because, such thing shouldn't be, should it?
she turned around - and what she felt was a loss. inner piece. and a terrible loss.
time played with her.

I favorited this. Not because of how amazing it was. But because the first thing I saw when I scrolled down was "time played with her." and that stuck my heart like an arrow.

This is... beyond words. Maybe it's just me, but the expression brings a lot of sorrow, a past, a story - and I love how animals can reflect this; even better than we can. I find the fur absolutely gorgeous, and her eyes - that's the real amazing thing. Those eyes.
The clock seems to reflect something... just Victorian to it, with that sadness.

Okay, I've been favorite-ing your work for the past few minutes now, and I have to say, this just HAS to be my most favorite. Only because I feel the same way about what the story says right now. And me coming across this... well. I don't know. I believe in "stuff happens for a reason"...but anyways. I just felt the need to say you did an amazing job. (Which you probably already know, considering the comments you got). My favorite animal is the fox (and my most favorite fox is the Arctic fox), and I just really love your work.
