The description reminds me of the verse, "Meaningless, meaningless, everything is meaningless!" Rather dark, but often true. Doesn't mean we can't hold out hope.
Anyway, you did a great job evoking emotion. And as for dA problems, was it you who had to delete multiple submissions? If so, how exactly does it mess up? I've never had that happen to me.

A feline momento mori... somehow I find it slightly more jarring than the usual contemplation of a human skull, but I guess that's because I'm more of a cat person than a people person. Well done!

This is... well done, but also slightly depressing... not in a bad way. When art can evoke emotion (other than "are you a five year old with markers or something?") it's always a good thing.
