Description Miss Griffin and Miss Faragonda, in their more overtly heroic, younger days. I like these two since that cute little exchange they had in the second movie, they're supposed to be rivals but they're also kinda best-friendsy.

I love it! Griffin's probably more so my favorite than Faragonda, but that's mainly because she's so mysterious and I like to imagine what she was like before she left the coven. (It was mentioned in like, the third season I believe that she was a Coven member, with Valtor/Baltor.) and Faragonda's really cool too because she always seems to know what's going on and always has a way to fix the problems... Any way I like it.

Thanks! I like how in Winx the parents and teachers did all this heroic stuff too. I want to do a story about Griffin and how she was being evil and then got away and became good...

Sweet. Good luck.. I'm writing one...That's kind of on hiatus until I can find the rest that I wrote down...It's about Griffin's shift from being in the Coven to being in the Company of Light...And I have two other one-shot fics about Griffin on the site...(And I call Valtor,Baltor. Its easier for me and I don't get confused because that's his name in the version I watched.)

They were, weren't they? Have you ever noticed that the witches (except for the TRix) don't seem t obe taught eveil, so much as mischief?

Very true about the rest of the witches not being so bad. Especially in the comics, where Griffin says something like "we use the techniques of evil to fight evil." And the minor witches we've met don't seem so bad, Shilly gave in to the temptation to use a love potion and Lucy seems to be a jerk sometimes because she hung her self esteem on impressing the Trix. They're not evil, just kinda dumb.

It's hard to figure out what the normal witches are like, they have to be different from fairies because they're NOT fairies, but... Do they have different cultural priority like witches want to show off but not hurt people? Is the whole witch/fairy feud the same as racism? What do witches do when they graduate, I mean who'd hire a witch to work at their store if the witch would just turn customers into toads?

I think three's a balance they try to maintain. the first episode had that prank with the eggs (unless it was the second episode: remember the first dance of the first term?). The prank was that te fairies would be mad at their dates or something, that is, if memory serves, when they opened the eggs. When they got bitten by these snakes, or something. I think that's also the episode where Icy ended up with the baby duck that followed her everywhere. From what I remember, no one was intended to get seriously hurt, just...embarrassed, or something. But learning about the techniques of evil to fight evil is also good. The curriculum can hone the witch's instinct for the difference between the two, where the line is drawn, things of that nature.

Yeah, like that! I think you're exactly right. From the second movie it seems like the witches always harmlessly sabotage the beginning of school meeting too.

Or even, possibly one of the witches' jobs is to keep the fairies on their toes so they don't get TOO soft and fluffy and think the power of love and believing in yourself will fix everything. 'Cause sometimes you need the power of love and tellin' it like it is, or the power of love and police officers depending on what the problem is!

Another thing I wonder about- are fairies stronger than witches? Fairies certainly get more powerups and new transformations! So maybe witches grew to be sneaky in order to keep up. ...or maybe all witches eventually get gloomix and whatever-ix and we just don't get to see it.
