Woah... Mariciel's colors keep her from blending in with the background -- something I could never accomplish. The design of the candy-canes are elegant and realistic. You're undoubtbly really good at what you do. Any tips for a noobie like me? Thanks, and I hope you win that contest.

Any tips? Hmm......Um, I normally start the picture before I do the background (even though it's better you draw the bg before the picture so it's easier to get the lighting and setting of the picture) so when I do..do the background I just pick colors either similar or contrasting to the picture--- but still goes well with the overall mood! For example, I would never put lime green or this purple-y maganta color together. It's too extreme for me but sometimes it could work. Oh gosh. This is vague and not very helpful at all @__@

my my, what a lovely work. the use of the snowflake and candy cane patterns is rather well done, and love how this stands out with the orange hues and all. the touch of the snowman is so cute, and love how you gave it that striping to the snowman fashion. directing Mariciel's fashion to be more brown hues help distinguish it from the present in the bg and makes her body language stand out more. the ribbon on the present looks rather elaborate and turned out grea, and the flow of her hair turned out nice. hope you win :3

Thank you! Lol, finding the right snowflake pattern was a pain in my butt. I wanted something simple and my boyfriend who was watching it, wanted something more elaborate so there was a ton of trial and error until we finally agreed on that xD At least I did the candy canes myself though xD And I got really lucky that the brown on her skirt and such helped define the picture since the present in the bg was originally not gonna be there. And as always, thank you!!! I like knowing you like my pictures <333
