a technical question:do you use reference for the face?i mean,you make a real face look that way and have it as reference?(hope you understand what i mean)

It depends on the piece, since I often draw things from my mind ... but yes for faces I often use reference for light and shadow and such. I often use my computer cam and shoot photos of my own face too if I need a certain angle or expression ... just to see how it should look. Hope that helps!
