Twitter Marionette Doll (Autumn Inspired)
Medium: My homemade paper clay, Various papers, over a wire and foil armature and painted with acrylics.

One of my old Art Dolls. Title 'Twitters' Inspired by the Robins and Sparrows or as we call them Spadgers who often twitter outside my studio window gossiping 😉 Medium is papier mache. Most of my dolls have their eyes closed or slightly peeking. When I was a child I would often peek whilst pretending to sleep, just in case I'd catch something moving in the darkness of the room when I should be sleeping. I'd often be sure I'd see movement and keep so still then shoot up in bed as to spook them... whoever they were?... If they ever were? But of course I'd fall asleep making faces out of the patterns on the net curtains or turn the flowers from the wall paper into characters with names made up of arithmetic. I did not intend to ramble the above. However I find it's important to capture moments, and thoughts as they happen.

Nostalgia often turns my veins to fire and my heart beats like a booming drum in my ears so much so that if I were to open my mouth in that instance a sound only those who can identify will hear it's song.

The Doll is a Marionette and as such you can pose and have them move their arms.
This was indeed the first Marionette I ever made and started my infatuation with creating them.
