Description
A doodle of Kay (that's what I'm going with for her name for now) and Ti. Ti walked in the door and she's just sleeping on his couch. This is startling to him because he did not even know she was in town, much less on his couch.

This prose goes with this scene if you're interested in my writing (pretty spoilery):

Ti yawned as he unlocked his front door. It was ten in the morning, late for him. He was usually in bed by eleven, but it was the weekend and he had gone out for coffee with his daughters that morning.

Ti yawned again inside his apartment with a hand on the door knob.

"Shut the door already! It's bright out," demanded a disgruntled voice from the couch.

"Ahg!" shouted Ti, whipping around to see who was in his apartment.

"What's wrong with you? Shut the damn door," reiterated the lump of blankets, Ti identified as Kay.

"What the hell Kay?" demanded Ti as he shut the door. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm in town. Thought I'd take you up on your generous offer of a couch to sleep on."

"You know, that offer was only for one week ten years ago," grumbled Ti, walking across the living room to the kitchen.

Kay sat up and shoved Ti's blankets to the end of the couch. "Are you going to kick me out on the streets? Leave me to the vampires?"

Ti glared through the opening between the kitchen and living room. "No. I'm just pointing out that this is a home invasion, not acceptance of a generous offer. Do you want a beer?"

"Already had one," said Kay, holding up an empty bottle. "But I'll take another."

Ti rolled his eyes as he rummaged in his refrigerator. "So, home invasion and theft."

Ti turned back to the window between the two rooms. Kay was sitting on a bar stool on the living room side of the window. Ti handed her a beer and leaned against the kitchen counter across from her.

"You gonna lock me up, cop man?" asked Kay as she opened the beer.

Ti took the beer open from her and set to work on his own beverage. "I'm not that kind of cop."

Kay studied Ti intently. "What kind of cop are you then?"

Ti frowned up at her. "I'm a red stripe. You know I only go after vampires."

Kay continued to stare at Ti, a slight frown creased her brow which had accumulated a few more wrinkles since the last time Ti had seen her. He was always relieved when he found her on his couch. He'd never admit to that, of course, but a vampire slayer like Kay did not generally enjoy a long life expectancy. Vampire hunters like Ti didn't enjoy a terribly long life expectancy either, but at least he was protected by the FBI and had back up. Kay was fighting vampires largely alone.

"What?" demanded Ti, breaking the uncomfortable silence that had begun to fester.

"I heard a rumor," said Kay.

"What rumor is that?" asked Ti.

"A rumor about you."

"I cannot keep up with all your slayers' rumors. What did you hear?"

Kay leaned against the table. "I heard you were working with a vampire."

Ti rolled his eyes. "How in the hell did you hear about that?"

"Is it true?"

"Nope. I'm working with two vampires," said Ti, sipping his beer.

"Care to explain?" demanded Kay, glaring at Ti.

"Not particularly."

"Come on Ti, what is going on?"

Ti sighed and stood up from the counter. "They aren't normal vampires, well, Ambrose is pretty normal, but Lisa isn't."

"You named them!?"

"They come with names, Kay."

"You think they call the humans they keep as snacks by their names?"

"Ambrose and Lisa are in holding, they don't have anyone as a snack."

"What's so special about these vampires then?" demanded Kay, leaning on the counter.

"Like I said, Ambrose is pretty normal. He's an asshole with a superiority complex, but Lisa is different. She's never had human blood! So she doesn't burn in the sun!"

"You have an unfledged vampire?" asked Kay, sipping her beer.

"You knew about unfledged vampires? Why didn't you tell us!" demanded Ti.

Kay shrugged. "I don't tell you people everything."

Ti shook his head. "Anyway, yes, she's unfledged. And you can't kill an unfledged."

Kay shook her head. "That is a misconception. They're the easiest ones to kill. They're so weak. Just drag it outside on a sunny day and get a couple drops of blood on it's tongue. Dead in seconds."

Ti glared at Kay. "I am not going to force a vampire to drink human blood. The point to get them not to do that!"

Kay rolled her eyes. "It'll drink human blood on it's own eventually. Just a mater of time. Kill it now before it hurts people, not later."

"She can help us, Kay. She can go under cover. She can get into place we can't. She just needs to be trained. She was passing for human before we collected her so she has no idea how to behave like a vampire. That's where Ambrose comes in. He's training her. Teaching her how to behave like a vampire when she's undercover. I mean, he's an ass, but he knows what he's doing."

"Do you hear yourself? I can understand, it's stupid, but I can understand why you'd be alright with working with an unfledged. The other one is not unfledged? It sounds like a fully fledged monster, and you're talking about it like it's an asshole trainer at the gym. It's not human, Ti!"

Ti folds his arms and glares at Kay. "I've been doing this longer than you have. I know how to handle vampires. I know Ambrose is dangerous and I'm not going to give him any benefits of the doubt, but we need his help if Lisa and I are going to pull off a mission.

Kay shook her head and stared into her beer bottle. She looked up and spoke quietly. "I've always assumed I'd die before you, but, for the first time, I'm worried about you. You're going down a dangerous path. We're around them all the time and they look like us and they talk like us, but vampires are not human. If you start to think of them as humans, you're going to end up dead."

Ti looked down at his beer, swirling bottle and watching the liquid slosh in sloppy circles. He looked up at Kay. "I know what I'm doing Kay. Don't worry about me."

Ti and Kay are from Unfledged.
