Cool, and I'm only a first year Chinese student so I'm sure your speaking/reading/writing is millions times better than mine! Simplified characters throw me off though though haha. Did you use ink for all of this or is the red part water colors?

Sorry for late reply! Haha my Chinese is actually really bad. How come you're learning traditional script -- going to Taiwan/HK?
This was all ink -- the red parts are ink as well, though I think I diluted it.

I was wondering about that it looked almost like a watercolor, I need to learn to work with ink as well as you do, It always seems so sloppy when I try..
We're learning traditional first, they say because it's easier to learn simplified from there so we know both. We'll see how that goes though.

That's great how you've let the colour get out of the characters' lines. That creates somehow "flowing" feeling. And I just love how you've done the girl's (hmm, well at least I think that the character's a little girl :3) jacket. The big leaps between jacket's shadows and lights look good.
Though in my opinion the umbrella could have a bit more different shades of red (or not shades but, erm, actually I mean the varying in the same red between darker, deeper and lighter, not different reds.. : / I'm not totally sure what shade means.. English isn't my first language :'D).., now it looks quite flat. I miss some shadow on the umbrella, exampel: around/behind the girl's head ^^ It could bring some depth?

Thank you for your comment~~ a lot of the time when colouring, I forget to make things shaded & contrasting. I'll try to keep it in mind in the future when I paint.
Your English is really good for 2nd language, btw~!
