▌Who? What's in a Name? The It's the Person Behind the Name we Care about, Right?
The Basics
Name : Akyia Frith (Awe-Kee-A)
Position : Pawn of Tiayo, training for Rook
Nicknames : Akee, Aky Hey You!
Age : 14
Birthday : April 4th
Gender : Male
Height : 4'9
Weight : 95 lb
Orientation : Bi (But generally uninterested in a relationship)
Wooooo~ Looky what I can do!
Magic
Magic Tier : I
Regulation Tier : I
Akyia is very young and was a late bloomer magic-wise, his Teir has been identified, however he has only just barely gained full access to it. This means he is actually very, very bad at controlling his magic, and incapable of doing very much with it. His training has shifted to preparation for a Rook position, however, this is a recant change and Akyia at this point would be much more likely to engage in combat WITHOUT the use of magic. For him, magic is still a last-resort and only to be used if absolutely necessary. And IF necessary, he knows that his incapability with it would get him almost nowhere. If faced with an opponent of equal strength as himself, he will attack without magic. If he knows he is outmatched, he won't bother fighting and will run, or will try to get some distance and attack with his bow and arrows. Self-preservation is deeply ingrained into him and he is clever enough to know that in all cases, he will loose a magic fight. He has no control over his magical signature at this point and in general is very bad at magic use. Very. Very. Very bad.
String | Common
→ Akyia's specialty is with a bow, he summons a near invisible, extremely thin magical string which he uses to string his wood and alloy recurve bow. The string is much, much finer than what a recurve would usually require, but being magic, serves the same purpose and can push an arrow much, much farther than shooting a normal bow would. It is this ability that first manifested in a Tier-Identification Test, very weakly, and it was this that earned Akyia an offer to train as a Rook rather than a Knight as he was previously. It took at least a year before Akyia could thin out the string enough to actually span the full leanth of the bow, and now the dim glow is barely visible in daylight. Perhaps at night the string would be easier to see, but in day, it might look very much like Akyia shoots with an un-strung bow. This string is also often used to play with a yo-yo, allowing Akyia to do all sorts of tricks that may not always be possible with a normal string.
Dagger | Common
→ One of the easiest things to learn and generally part of what defines a Teir I, however given Akyia's lack of experience and training, his max is currently a thin, 3 inch blade. While the dagger could potentially be used for fighting, he never actually has. Because of his low Regulation number, he can maintain the dagger for a while, however his low magic tier means the summoned dagger is hardly ever exactly the same. He is unable to maintain a single idea or form for the weapon and it would not be uncommon to see it shift slightly while in use, his lack of training preventing him from fully cementing the item. His max is 3 inches, barely.
▌What's He Like?
Alignment
There is little about Akiya that happens in a small way, much of what he is and does is over the top. He is high energy, generally chipper, very clever, but also in possession of a very high opinion of himself. He thinks most rules boring, tendentious and pointless, much preferring common sense to the lay of the law. He is headstrong and willing to argue with his superiors, though never in a million years would he betray them. He will break the kingdom's rules, but will respect and thinks highly of Tayio's rulers. Nothing Akyia is malicious or intending harm, but he almost always is looking out for number one. While the 'idea' of rules and laws are what Akiya finds pointless, he appreciates that the kingdom needs rulers and an organized militia to be safe. The people in charge? Yes, they have Akiya behind them all the way, to the bitter end. What they want to enforce? Eh, he'll go with it . . . perhaps . . . .nah, maybe not. He sees himself above the commoner, and the rules, breaking them when they prove inconvenient. Still, if caught breaking a rule, he will accept his punishment without much complaint, but be back to bending and pushing limits when he needs.
Perhaps this was a Good Idea. Perhaps Not. But I can't stop Now, Can I?
I've got to see it through to the end Now that I've Started.
Perhaps then we will know if this is a Good thing or a Bad thing.
Personality
+ Loyal + Honorable +
+ Chipper + Clever +
While Akyia might have a smart mouth and be head strong, he is steadfast in his loyalty to the crown and his dedication to his job. Akyia is proud to be a pawn and looks forward to the day he will graduate and take his stand against all evil forces on the boarder of Taiyo. It is rare to see Akyia with anything other than a smile, he is always looking out for a good joke or pun and loves a good banter. He sees promises a written in stone, will not leave a freind in need. His views are straightforward and while he is own safety will always be a concern, Akyia always tries to do what he thinks is right by his friends, family, and kingdom.
- Loyal - Akyia would never betray his kingdom or crown. While he does see rules as useless, he has nothing but the upmost respect for his rulers. The higher pieces are admired and stand as sort of role models for Akyia. He is extreamly patriotic, unlikely to EVER wear any darker chromatic. He would do most anything for his crown, despite being a constant breaker and bender of rules.
- Honorable - There are few things that Akyia hates more than someone willing to go back on their word. While Akyia will not allow a fallen opponent to pick up his weapon, Akyia would never stab a man in the back. He believes in favors returned, promises seen through, and will always be there for a friend if he can. Akyia sees no harm in refusing to fight in a battle he knows he will loose, but he does have a problem with leaving a fight unfinished or battle feild uncalled.
= High Strung = Highly Independent =
= Head Strong = Curious =
Perhaps Akyia is strung too tightly wound to really stick his nose into other people's business, but he can't help it. There is a spark in him that enjoys knowing what is going on, he hates being dependent on other people for anything, especially knowing what is going on. He floats through life with the intention of enjoying himself, likes his training, and has a knack for getting into trouble, though not for getting out. He's the sort to ask questions that may not be comfortable to awners, or simply ask for the sake of asking. However, there is a stubbornness to him that gets in the way of practicality at times.
- High Strung - Akyia is very high strung, but this does not mean high energy. He has the endurance and childish whims of any 14 year old, however, he is far more likely to obsess and become completely hooked by an idea. He any emotion he has, it is strong, little of what he does is small or half-assed. If Akyia decides to do something, he's going all the way with it. However, because he is already strung very tightly, he doesn't always handle high stress situations well, sometimes loosing his head and going on with some pretty rash choices.
- Highly Independent - Akyia is not the sort to need someone with him to go do something. He does not feel like he needs a social companion or even other people's approval. Not a drop of his self-image depends on how others view him and his tenancy will be to 'go it alone' not because he dislikes other people, but because it doesn't occur to him that other people might be willing or want to help him out. His knee jerk reaction will rarely include consulting others or check with someone else first.
- Arrogant - Childish -
- Competitive - Smart Ass -
There are few things that Akyia likes more than games, he is a child after all. However, he also walks into almost every game knowing he is going to win. It is always his intention to win. Always his intention to prove once again, without a doubt, that he is the best, because he truly believes this. Of all the pawns, Akyia is happy to be himself, delighted to be honored with the offer of Rook training, and this self confidence and childish idealism of the world give him an arrogance and smart mouth that is not always healthy.
- Arrogant - Above the law? Fabulous aim? Perfect hair? Oh yeah, Akyia is full of himself. Not only does he think himself far older than his years, he tries to act it and fails. His arrogance only ever gets him into trouble, but it persists regardless. Akyia may turn away from a fight he knows he will loose, but in a verbal confrontation Akyia will argue to the bitter end just to have the last work.
- Childish - This kid is still a kid. He still retains a childish sense of Right and Wrong. Good and Evil, and even fairness. He sees the world and it's rules below him. After all, he is the future, is he not? This childishness can lead to fits, idealistic views, and a delight in the smallest things. He is whimsical, changing in interests and attitude, and not at all practical. He believes in luck, wants things his way, and will throw a fit to get it.

Current-
Now? Akyia is a Pawn training to become a Rook and couldn't be happier. His focus is on his work, though he certainly makes time for himself. While he is still required to be complainant in hand to hand combat and the use of other weapons, the bow can be considered his 'specialty'. Unlike some who train toward a Rook's assassination or to serve as a messenger, Akyia is destined to become a Defender and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Tayio
Samuel Warren Ryde - Rook - Adored. Idolized. This man is perfect. What all Rooks should be. Akyia looks up to him and wants to be just like him.
Cedric Kaiser - Knight - Cedric does nothing less but put the fear of god into Akyia. Not only is the man the Knight in charge of Akyia's training, he is required to train with the man and report directly to him as punishment. Akyia's many antics around the castle have decreased significantly since this new arrangement.
Berin Frith - Brother - Berin is adored, a wonderful older brother, a better knight, and Akyia's source of entertainment for most of his early years. It was because of Berin that Akyia agreed to become a Pawn rather than going to work as a merchant
Kuriel
Nyx Stern - Bishop - Akyia does not actually KNOW Nyx's name, just that he is a bishop, he is evil, and he can do crazy things with magic, like tie people up and that Akyia does not like or trust the man in any way. Evil.
Fubuki Takatsuki - Like with Nyx, Akyia doesn't actually know Fubu's name, but he knows the man is bad, terribly bad, and does not like him. Evil.

▌The PlayerI have been role playing for 5+ years now, from rp in little cat groups, oneshot chatrooms, and as large as running two active characters and a dragon on a Pern server Mu. (If You Know What a Mu is, we need to be friends.) I'm a dynamic writer, have taken classes on creative writing, journalism, and am also dyslexic. If my spelling bothers you, I've very sorry, but if you will give me a chance and run a scene or two with me, I do try to keep from doing boring scenes and I love dynamic interactions!

Please know that I am a very busy person, but I do try to reply to RP as quickly as I possibly can. That being said I dislike 'playing house' sorts of RP. If you like playing action, fights, arguments, adventure, and conflict in general, then I'm your person. However if you want to play a nice walk to the river to talk, I'd really rather not. Things actually happening is really what I'm looking for, I don't mind bad grammar or miss-spelling, but I grow very bored with scenes that are slow. Please know this does not mean I want to fight all the time, just that I prefer things to happen, a plot to move, goals to be formed and chased.
Spice is life for me in RP and Akyia is a highly Chaotic character because of that. Chances are, he will try to piss your character off, push their buttons, and will get in trouble. If you want to be his friend, awesome, then just know he is a playful, arrogant, smartass and a bit of jerk, and it is not at all, in any way personal to you as the player. That's just how he is and it helps me enjoy even normal, walk-to-river-type rp if that was what you wanted to do.
