Description Phil Spencer may've allowed Rare's infamous bear and bird duo to become Smash Bros. fighters despite Micrrosoft own rights to them, and they could even be one of the DLC Fighters for Ultimate, but for the sake of characters not owned by any of Nintendo's competitors that have had games of their own released multi-platformed which Nintendo could easily get hold of, I'll say better luck for their spiritual successors, especially if Rare's ownership to Banjo-Kazooie may results in them being dropped from the roster in future installments. Good luck I say for whenever the protagonists of Yooka-Laylee get worthy another to join the Smash Bros. battle, this is what I think their movesets could be:

For stage entrance in VS Mode, they might as well make the entrance they've been known for making when entering a level through a tome seen in their own games.

Special Attacks
*Standard: Slurp State
Yooka sticks out his long Chameleon Tongue, but it doesn't swallow opponents like Yoshi's Standard Special. Instead it grants the duo 5 different powers based on what it ends up touching. There's the Metal State which greatly improves their defense only to decrease their jumping abilities due to Yooka's weight, the Fire State which deals extra fire damage to their attacks only to leave them unable to use items, the Charged State which can enable their attacks to paralise opponents only to be damaged themselves each time they attack, the Illuminous State which allows the duo to run faster and jump higher only for their defense rate to go lower, and there's the Sticky State which can prevent the duo from receiving knockback when on a platform only for their speed to be lowered. Let's say this move could work like Shulk's Standard Special, either the duo would gain these states from items and other opponents or an object from Yooka-Laylee can appear right in front of them each time Yooka sticks out his tongue.
*Side: Reptile Rush
Yooka rolls around for a limited amount of time with Laylee standing on top. Works a bit like Sonic's side special.
*Up: Flappy Flight
Yooka grabs onto Laylee as she flies upwards carrying him for a limited amount of time before they start slowly descending.
*Down: Sonar 'Splosion
The longer the attack is charged up, the more powerful the shockwave sent out by Laylee whilst shouting "HOOOOOO!" will end up being.

For a Final Smash, it should be one where they release massive raid of Pagies known as Ragie Pagies. Whilst used, Pagies much to the duos surprise would rain out in front of them, and any opponent they strike will get sent to the Grand Tome where the Pagies as if angered by what Capital B and his minions did to them begin their finishing move.

For basic attacks, the dash attack, smash attacks and aerial attacks, I guess it would be based off the basic moves the duo had done in their own game when attacking foes, even those learnt to them by Trowzer. For a down aerial I suppose they might as well use the ground pound move for instance, and for Grab Attacks Laylee can do the grabbing and throwing whilst Yooka does the pummeling.

For idle animations, one can involve Yooka looking around like when standing idle in the duo's own game, and another can have Laylee making an expression whilst lifting up her wings.

For taunts (I have no specific way of the input to say for sure):
*A lone purple butterfly flies by which Yooka eats up shortly.
*Laylee flies around Yooka in circles, which can eventually make the latter character go slightly dizzy much to the former's hilariousness.
*Yooka and Laylee do their handshake.

For Palette Swaps, I guess they can be based off the colours that Yooka has been known for turning into during the duo's own game, along with the colours found in Yooka-Laylee's multiplayer mode.

When Kirby copies the duo, he'd gain a patch around his eyes along with Yooka's frill. Not sure though if he should have a bat dummy on him as well to represent Laylee.

For victory poses, one can have one of the victory poses the duo have been known to make in their own game, another can have Yooka reptile rushing around while Laylee flies around before they join up making a pose, and another can have the duo relaxing in a chair.

For a victory theme, I guess the duo could use this from when they’ve collected a Pagie in their game of origin: m.youtube.com/watch?v=SPYFz4SX…

Think I should’ve gone with mentioning something based off the duo’s Slurp States as a Classic Mode Title, seeing as one about duos has already been taken by another fighter.

I may’ve made a typo somewhere in the character bio where dop is mentioned instead of duo.

And my crop timing was wrong as one of the text boxes were still selected.

Yeah I’ve been creating these moveset predictions on Microsoft Word with my findings.
