Description
Costume made and worn by me. This creation has won a competition in 2016, GameON, to represent my country in "Cosplay World Masters", Portugal, Lisbon.

Hat feather:
Handmade from 100% synthetic yarn that has been brushed out in small parts and attached to a wire base. Used four different colors to create gradient and look more natural. Styled and cut with scissors and hairspray.

Hat:
Base shaped from an old, thick yoga mat. Hardened with PVA glue and newspapers. 3D dimensionas details formed in either air dry clay of the same yoga mat. Used matt and metallic acrylic paint. Airbrushed, dry - brushed weathering techniques gives it a worn look.

Pistols:
Barrels shaped from an old yoga mat. Handle and decor pieces put out of XPS styrofoam, textured with EVA foam and air dry clay. Painted in acrylic paint. Airbrushed, dry - brushed to create weathering effect. Glossy finish to make it more realistic.

Shoulder armor:
Cut, sanded and heat - shaped from a PVC plastic sheet. Design on the back, edges created with EVA foam. More sculptured details made with air dry clay. Everything was primed, painted with spray paint or acrylics. Same weathering techniques.

Small metal - like brooches all over the costume:
Made a plaster mold and press - casted with air dry clay. Attached brooch clip while clay was wet for it to cure in brooche clips.

Belt buckle:
Made from scratch using layered PVC plastic glued together, then sanded the edges to get the needed shape.

Pocket knife:
On the back of a belt. Blade made from PVC, handle from wooden dowel covered with leather strap. Sheath is shaped from EVA foam and textured with acrylic paint and PVA glue to look like leather.

Costume:
Used a wide variety of fabrics. Paid attention to thickness and textures so they would be appropriate for this particular pirate theme and would create a different flow while walking. All clothing pieces weathered with acrylic paint, air brushing and dry brushing to give it more diminsion and create a realistic look fitting the theme.

Blouse - thicker silky fabric to give it more sleek look. Has a zipper and a lining inside;
Corset - faux furniture leather, has a lining inside;
Fabric wrap on waist - thinner synthetic fabric. Heavily ripped, made holes and rough edges to give more worn look;
Belt - faux furniture leather;
Shorts - handsewn from a stretchy fabric. Stripes painted on with a roller and acrylic paint;
Socks and gloves - stretchy faux leather fabric. Sock collar design made from faux furniture leather;
Arm covers - faux stretchy fabric;
Coat - sleeves made from waxed sturdy fabric, used mattress foam to hold shape. White part textured linnen - like fabric. Lining is silky red with hand - printed pattern using EVA foam stamp and fabric dye.
