all connected through a stupid sport - andrew & kevin's deal, andrew's deal with neil to keep kevin distracted and at palmetto, neil giving his game to kevin, neil sacrificing himself to riko and death by exy at evermore to protect andrew, neil's trades for andrew's exy efforts that led to andrew being interested in a sport to which he was painfully apathetic, neil asking andrew to chose exy, to choose kevin and neil, to choose a dream of olympic gold, to choose a life where they would all be intertwined, giving andrew something tangible to build a life around and not just his obligations to others, but for himself, & ironically protecting neil against neil with his goalie racket.

and right from the start, the foxhole court, their team was the first place neil felt he belonged and would give himself up to experience a few stolen moments & found andrew & kevin through the process
