Simon called Raphael one last time, just to see if he would pick up. He sobbed lightly when he went to voice mail, knowing full well that Raphael had declined the call. Again. He wiped his face, as best as he could. The dried tears stayed stuck to his face, lightly crusted on.

He had to see him. So he headed to the hotel, slipping in with a bunch of other vampires, just in case Raphael had told the doorman not to let him in. He looked around, looking desperately for Raphael. If he couldn’t find him as he was coming in, he would try to find Raphael’s bedroom since he figured he would be there for the night.

However, there was no need for it. He saw Raphael. He hoped he hadnt looked too terrible when he came out of the apartment, he hadnt even checked to see how he looked. But when Raphael walked over, all thought of how he looked or didn’t look flew out of his head. His breath stopped in his throat when he heard the simple question “to what do I owe this pleasure?”. He took a deep breath, no he didn’t need to breathe but he was still a relatively new vampire and he was rather used to breathing still.

“Can we talk, somewhere... private?” he asked, his voice clearly hoarse from crying. A few other vampires glanced at them, after all Raphael being coven leader would draw attention. But Simon was also a site to see, with how disheveled he looked.

He watched Raphael as he seemed to pause, as if he didnt seem sure. And that greatly worried Simon. But eventually Raphael gave a light nod. Without a word, he turned and headed off some hallway in the Du Morte. Simon quickly followed after him. Well, quick for a human at least. Soon he was walking next to Raphael. He glanced around, going into a part of the hotel he had never been before. Where was Raphael taking him?

Soon Raphael opened a door and held the door for him. Simon walked in and glanced around, shocked to see it was Raphael’s personal bedroom. He didn’t think this was where they were headed. He heard the light sound of the door closing. He glanced at Raphael and watched as Raphael went to his personal bar and filled two glasses of blood and went and sat down on his couch.

Slowly Simon walked over and took one of the glasses but didn’t sit down and didn’t sip it. He had had more then enough blood, he didn’t need more of it.

Raphael didn’t sip his either and looked at Simon as if waiting for him to say something.

Simon took a deep breath and looked away from Raphael, trying to look at anything except him. He stood there shifting his weight from foot to foot unsure where to start. “Raphael..... im sorry. I don’t know what I did to make you upset with me, or why... But... im sorry. Really. And, if you tell me what I did I promise to not ever do it again, I just... I need you in my life. Please don’t break up with me. I.. I need you in my life. If... if you’ve ever seen Friends, you’re my lobster. Or you’re the mac to my cheese, peanut butter to my jelly” he tried to explain it to him. He closed his eyes taking another deep breath.

He finally looked at Raphael, his eyes wet again “please.... I love you Raphael.” he begged, his voice soft and pleading. He wiped his face with his sleeve trying not to show he was crying, but it was pretty obvious.

Raphael sat there, and looked rather shocked when it finally dawned on him. He was the reason Simon was crying. It was him. Raphael felt horrible. He thought that was the worst he could feel, he was wrong.

Simon thought they were breaking up?

Instead of answering, Raphael slowly got up off the couch and set the glass down on an end table and then he wrapped his arms around Simon, tightly. Simon was shocked, surprised that Raphael was hugging him. Did this mean he accepted his apology? Slowly Simon lifted his arms to hug him back, leaning his head on his shoulder with a sigh. He loved being this close to him.

“im not breaking up with you Simon” Raphael mumbled softly into Simons ear, which made Simon smile softly. It made Simon feel so much better. Simon gave a little nod “ok” he mumbled.

Raphael pulled away finally and sighed “im sorry you thought... you thought I was breaking up with you” he said.

Simon sighed and gently wiped his face again, but it didn’t change the fact he still looked like a complete mess. “its ok, I just... im happy you arent” he mumbled. Raphael nodded and sat back down on the couch. Simon sat down as well, smiling a bit, happily.

Raphael smiled lightly at Simon and shook his head gently, he couldn’t believe Simon thought he was breaking up with him.

Simon sat there and glanced at Raphael “so... if you arent breaking up with me.... what... what was all this about?” he questioned softly. Was he really just trying to have time to himself, like Kyle had suggested? And, why did he freak out when he sat on his lap? Simon bit his lip and looked away a bit, wanting to ask it but also not wanting to overwhelm Raphael with a lot of questions, he knew Raphael didn’t like all those questions. And, after finally being able to talk to Raphael he didn’t want to make him go away again with a lot of unwanted questions.

Raphael was silent at that for a bit. He lifted his blood to his lips as if he was going to drink it but paused and set it back down before it even touched his lips. Simon tilted his head a bit curiously at that, that was.... odd.

Simon watched as Raphael seemed to think of what to say, like he didn’t know how to word it. Finally he said softly “i just.... didn’t like being close to the water” he sounded guarded, like he was hiding something. But Simon didn’t know what. This was all because of water? He gently set a hand on Raphael’s shoulder and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek, making Raphael frown.

“I didn’t know you were this scared of water. I …. I just thought it would be a cute date idea” he tried to explain to his boyfriend. Raphael nodded at that “i know mi amor, you were just trying your best”

Simon couldn’t help but perk up when Raphael called him his love in Spanish, he loved it, and let him know that Raphael truly wasn’t angry at him. He grinned happily, so happily that accidentally his fangs came out. “maybe tomorrow night we could try a date again. Only... only this time you can chose. I just... I just want to be with you again, I miss you Raphael. Im ready for anything you want to do” he said excitedly, bouncing a little on Raphaels couch.

Raphaels eyes widened “dont break my couch” he warned. Simon blushed and stopped and looked away and shrugged “sorry” he mumbled. Raphael sighed a bit and nodded “thanks. But... I think I would like that” he mumbled. Simon grinned again happily, his fangs still showing. “great! Il um meet you here so we can go wherever it is you want. Il see you at night fall” he said and got up excitedly.

Raphael nodded and yawned “il see you then” he said. Simon grinned like a total goof and nodded and headed out excitedly. He couldn’t wait to go on his date with Raphael, excited as if it was like their first date again. He needed to call Clary and Maia and let them know the good news!

Raphael watched as Simon left and glanced at the blood again. He knew Simon had to notice his reluctance to drink it. He sighed and got up to change for bed. He knew the nerdy vampire wouldn’t be able to hold out asking about it for long. He climbed into bed, wondering how long it would be before his boyfriend snapped and had to ask about why he wasn’t drinking blood.

And, when it did happen, what was he going to tell him? What could he tell him? Would he think he was crazy? Would he break with him because of it? He sighed, not knowing what would happen. He hated it.

Slowly, he fell asleep, a frown on his lips as he thought about his upcoming date with Simon. It was going to be hard to get through especially if there was blood around.
