Description
Whoosh. A gust of wind blasted though the steel halls of the underground base, passing an open doorway, blowing the papers inside around like a tornado. Then there was a sudden screech of rubber on tile, one that seemed to go on far longer than was possible. Whoosh. The wind materialized itself into a royal blue hedgehog with a slender runner's frame in the doorway of the entrance it had passed, the papers being stirred once again, this time from their new home on the floor. Sonic the Hedgehog grinned in triumph at the dark figure floating serenely in a tube of clear liquid in the center of the room, and hurried towards a console placed in front of it.
"They go through all the trouble of putting you in a secret laboratory, and they don't even bother to close the door?" he asked the silent figure.
As expected, being sedated, Shadow didn't reply.
Sonic studied the console carefully. He really wasn't as good at this type of thing as Tails was, but the young fox was currently suffering from a severe head cold, and hadn't been able to come, so Sonic was on his own when it came to any machines.
He stared at the console rather helplessly. He got the feeling that simply hitting it really hard would only make matters worse, if anything at all.
Cracking his knuckles and giving the device the same cocky glare he gave all his enemies, whether they be egg-shaped men or his inanimate nemesis water, Sonic ran his hands lightly over the control board.
"Don't worry, buddy. I'll get you out of there."
He shut off all switches and turned a dial labeled 'drainage' down completely, and the liquid began to sink away. When the last drop was gone, the glass walls of the tube lifted automatically, spilling the soggy Ultimate Lifeform from the pedestal beneath the tube to the floor. Sonic approached quickly, and was relieve to see Shadow's chest rising and falling steadily. Shadow was lying on his back, his legs folded in a somewhat uncomfortable looking position beneath him. Sonic knelt beside the still form, and shook his shoulder, at the same time saying, "Rise and shine, Fak-AH!" He then cried out in surprise as the next thing he knew there was a vice-like grip closing around his throat with unnatural speed and force, pushing him backwards and slamming him onto his back. The blue hero stared up in shock at the snarling figure above him, taking in the wild eyes and the drawn back fist, crackling with chaos energy.
"LEAVE ME ALONE YOU BASTARDS!!!" Shadow roared, his fingers tightening around the already bruised throat.
"Shadow! Calm down! It's me, Sonic! I'm here to rescue you!"

I originally wasn't going to post anything till May, when I would hopefully be getting some new art supplies, but I just felt like doing this so hope you enjoy! Sorry for the lame background. My layers were being uncooperative. Y_Y it's like, 12:30 p.m. here. I really should sleep now.
