Description Sonic Prime, written by Man of Action Entertainment (and supervised by SOA, SOJ and Sonic Team just like Sonic Boom), sees Sonic delve into the multiverse when a battle with Eggman sees him shatter the Paradox Prism.
The show's animation is done by Wildbrain and, given how they were once DIC and own the rights to the old shows and since the show is about the multiverse, you'd think SEGA would give the creatives permission to do episodes where Sonic visits a universe seen before in a previous show like Sonic Boom World in one episode and the world of SatAM in another. So far, the multiverse presented in the show is the Shatterverse with no other universes in sight along with any characters whom fans crave to see again.

Either way...
In New Yoke City, Mister Doctor Eggman is busy looking at footage of various events and characters in other universes as he seeks out other dimensions for the Chaos Council to conquer. At one point, footage of a certain dictator in a certain show from the early 90s appears, its Doctor Robotnik from the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon that aired from 1993-1994. Mister Doctor Eggman observes the man formerly known as Julian, seeing how he has much in common with him, and he seems to be getting an idea.

And I just realized that, since SEGA doesn't want to call Eggman "Robotnik" anymore (save for in the movies), this provides the writers quite the challenge if they are allowed to use the material from the 90s shows like SatAM if they take advantage of the multiverse. After all, this show is catering to younger Sonic fans and not just older fans.
