Description shouldn't friggin' street photography have it's own friggin' category?

makes one think that these categories weren't made by photographers.

hmm...

well ... between shows at fashion week ... i was just chillin' at the starbucks around the corner from smashbox. it's quite busy there.

i watched a really creepy "dude that works out too much and spent a lot on his hair plugs" try and pick up on an obviously married girl.

i watched another girl with her hood up.

it wasn't cold.

nor was it raining.

she walked back and forth about five times.

odd.

then again, this is los angeles.

but ... this was actually culver city.

i'm not a huge fan.

seemed to quiet down.

and my "photo target" settled into his seat.

with his newspaper.

and a cup of joe.

leica mp. noctilux 50mm/1.0. f/1.0. 1/125th. agfa apx 100. bye bye agfa. (normally processed)

Great shot, I love how he is almost completely blacked out and the background adds so much light to this. I really want to save up for a Leica now.

I don’t know about β€œsoon.” After reading your ode to Leica article, I don’t think I’m worthy of one yet. I have no real darkroom experience and I would love to get more into film than I am now, but it’s not too practical for a while. I’m a sophomore in college so the money flow isn’t the strongest right now. Thinking about changing my major to photography though and β€œselling out on my terms” for a while. But I’ll definitely look into it in the future because it would be a great investment to get one.

By the way, if you would like to......... ummm..... donate any money or perhaps a used Leica that you find laying around the old house not being used........ then I’ll give you my address and you could just mail it to me.

People watching in coffee shops is fun. Also in big book stores/cafes, like the giant Barnes & Noble's. I worked in one for a while, and you used to see the most interesting people in that store.

This is a great photo. I'm adding it to my favs.

I quite like the minimalistic details yet the grandness of the overall result.

nice exposure of the target and such full-filment.

Unclarified textures...the couple in the background...lovely!

Well, your mood is very well reflected in the piece, which is why it's a success!

When you take pictures in public, and take out your camera in, say, Starbucks , aren't you a little nervous of the people around you? Has anyone ever complained if you took a picture of them?

I like the silouhette, the mood... It really gives the feeling of a calm reading of the newspaper.. even the backlit spectacles come out nice... and then the rest of the ambiente contestualizes everything

and also the note "agfa film". You know how sad I am about APX! and Rodinal I use! How can a century old developer disappear? Just because it costs 2 bucks instead of 20 bucks of T-Max developer? (sorry for the rant in your post)

this is a great shot, i love how he kinda looks like a shadow and then everything else is well lite. taking pix in starbuck's is one thing i love to do, but sadly i was recently told your not allowed to take pix inside their coffeeshops again beautiful picture

yeah asking the girl behind the counter to hold your frapicino while you take a pic of her with her arm extended out handing your coffee while you shoot a pic of her isnt very sneaky, she didnt mind it was here evil manager who got mad. would of been a nice shot too with the coffee blured and her in focus. stupid evil managers

My God... It's full of stars.

That Nocti bokeh... It's like I'm looking past this coffee lover and into the entire known universe. Great shot, mate, as always! BTW, I think I'm setting my sights on the 35/1.2 Nokton. I think it will do nicely until the funds for a Nocti arrive.
