there was this girl at the pool. we were neighbors.i mean ... we're still friends.
but she's not a neighbor, per se.
my daughter was 4.
my daughter met her.
my daughter spit water at her.
she'd come close and she'd hail the stream of water at the unsuspecting hottie.
go figure.
girls.
of any age.
they're as territorial as an alpha-dog.
ask cesar.
perhaps not.
he'd just say, "calm-assertive energy."
does that work with girls?
dunno.
but ... i thought this was funny because it reminded me of that day.

Composition, texture, timing. It all works really damn well together. I love this shot. Actually thought about taking a quite similar shot a few days ago, only with a plastic waterpistol, not a human one. This is much better.

It kind of makes me feel sad for every other little girl in the world who doesn't have a photographer like you as a dad. Such wonderful documentary you're creating of her life. She will always know how loved she is just from being able to look at herself through your eyes. That's something that is.
