Description

Adhra was absolutely fuming after this morning's discovery - how dare the Westland King attack Wizi? What was the point of it all? In her rage, the caramel Queen had stormed into the Outlands and sat, breathing deeply to calm herself down, on a mound of earthy soil.

Adilah paced, still fuming over the last few days. She was stalking a gazelle, hoping to take out her anger on a piece of prey, when the wind changed and brought a peculiar scent upon the wind. She grinned, wondering if now was the time to get her revenge. Stepping lightly, she crossed over the border between the Westlands and the Outlands, following the scent of the Queen. She poked her head out from the brush, her eyes lying upon the lioness. "Well, well, well, what have we here? Two lone queens away from their prides. How delicious." She chuckled gleefully. "Now, I wonder if you have perhaps learned of the wickedness within your own pride."

Whipping her head around, Adhra rose quickly to her paws and watched the oncoming lioness carefully, mentally planning all the things she could possibly say to avoid provoking the other. "I am afraid I don't quite understand. Would you care to elaborate?" the Queen asked gently, her scarlet eyes fixed on the Westlander's every movement.

Adilah chuckled gleefully. "Well let me explain. Your lions are ruthless, wicked to the core. Attacking without provocation on one of my own just because of her pride. And on neutral territory no less. My, my, and you all claim that the Westlanders are evil. From my point of view, it looks like the Pridelanders are the most wicked. I see your rage deep inside your eyes, you know what we did to your precious fleabag. And let me tell you, again, this was not an evil act, this was not an attack. He asked for it. We told him last time he was on our lands that we would attack any intruders once I came to power. And he stepped onto our lands. I was not going to make myself look weak by letting his actions go unpunished. We was warned, he didn't listen. Next time you see him, I would suggest passing on my words." She purred, a grin on her face. "And so you see dearie, it is you and the other prides in the wrong and committing the evil acts, not me."

Adhra took a few moments to process the Westlander's words - although she hated to admit it, what Adilah was saying sounded logical in the way she worded it. "The lions who attacked your Pridemember have been punished accordingly, I can assure you. Although I do not condone their actions - and nor do I condone Wizi stepping over your border - violence was not an acceptable way of dealing with it. You need to stop, Adilah, because what you're doing is very, very wrong." the Queen said in a firm tone, trying her utmost to contain her rage. "I don't understand why there is so much tension between us. All this could have been resolved, had you taken the time to cooperate instead of attacking others.

Adilah snarled. "Cooperation is a sign of weakness. We do not need to rely on other prides. And I assume that your punishment was also a weak one. I suspect that even you are weak. The correct punishment would have been to give him the same injury he dealt, in the same manner. He isn't here, so I guess I should give it to you." Without any other warning, Adilah leapt, her claws out, swiping at the other Queen's face, her snarl echoing in the barren land.

Adhra frowned, opening her mouth to reply, when suddenly she felt a force as strong as a brick wall hit her cheek, causing her to fall flat on her back and a cloud of dust to erupt around her. "That's it - your bullying ends here, Adilah." the Queen snarled as she reached up and sunk her unsheathed claws deep into the Westlander's shoulders, slashing her body from side to side in an attempt to induce more pain. The left side of the caramel lioness' cheek was throbbing as hot blood trickled and dripped off the end of her chin, staining her dusky pelt scarlet. As her anger took over, Adhra sucked in a breath of hot air as she pushed the other Queen away, her sharp claws finally releasing the flesh of her opponent's shoulders. "Now you take this as a warning. We are not weak. If you, or any of yours so much as breathe on me, Wizi or anyone else, I will kill you." she snarled as she lunged forward and rammed her paw hard into the Westlander's throat.

Adilah roared in pain, the burning from the Queen's claws raking through her skin. It was sure to scar, and she growled, not wanting to mar her perfect coat. She tried to fight back against Adhra, but soon she felt the paw against her throat, and she coked a bit, unable to breathe. She attempted to kick up with her hind legs, but she was pinned far to well, and she gaped for breath, her movements slowing. "You" She gasped out, "can't kill" She gagged a bit under the lioness's paws. "me." Her vision started to go back and she almost wondered if the lioness would finish the job. "You're" she choked out as her vision finally faded. "weak..." She lioness grew still, her futile thrashing halting.

It was incredibly difficult for Adhra to resist temptation; this lioness had caused so many problems in recent weeks, and it would take one swift movement to end everyone's torment and kill her off. The Queen was, however, not strong enough for that - she valued life too greatly, and did not wish to be held responsible for the murder of another living creature, as evil as that creature may be. "No, you are wrong." the female snarled into the other's ear as she leaned in close. "I can kill you, but I am better than that. You are weak for being unable to see past your own ego. Now stay away from us, and heed this warning." Adhra growled viciously as her tail slashed from side to side. With those words, the Pridelander rammed her paw into her opponent's throat again, the blood from her cheek falling onto the body below her. "You will not hurt us again." she whispered, removing her paw and backing slowly away from the Westlander.

Commission for Talentha . She asked for her Adilah with my Adhra, and as we have role-played the two together on several occasions, it was only fitting that I drew them in the moments leading up to their fabled fight.

This was so much fun to draw. Adilah's face is so satisfying to lineart, I don't know why >.>
