Protective

Since the death of Eeva and the outburst which followed, Uru has become very protective over those she loves, and over herself. She will not tolerate threats from anyone, and will meet violence with violence if necessary.

Obedient

Grateful to have been offered a place within the Pride, Uru will do anything the King asks of her. If he wishes to change her rank, so be it. If he wishes to send her on a wild goose chase, so be it. She’ll rarely nay say the royal family.

Gentle
With an aversion to violence, Urujuani is best kept away from it. She prefers the company of cubs, with her soft nature making her perfect for this role.

Diplomatic

She’s good at mediating arguments, and always tries to find a solution with which all parties can be happy. Usually, this involves splitting up scraps between cubs, though she has been known to be called upon for advice from adults too.

Soft-Hearted

This can be a wonderful attribute when it comes to love and the bearing of cubs, but when it comes to discipline and punishment, Uru is known to whine and cry when things get harsh. She will always beg for mercy on the accused’s behalf, especially when the death penalty is mentioned.

Sensitive

Very easily upset, it can be tiring to interact with Uru for long periods of time. Say the wrong thing and those big blue eyes will fill with tears.

Cowardly
Her aversion to violence means that she would rather flee from confrontation than turn and face it. The only way she’ll fight is if one of the royals tells her she has to. She is easily frightened and would even abandon a cub if it meant she would save her own skin.

Glutton

Oh, food is the answer to everything. Uru is drawn to it like a moth to a flame. She’ll always try to be at the front of the queue, and isn’t above stealing scraps from sleeping lions. This means she’s usually tired – digesting is heavy work, I’ll have you know! – and spends a lot of time lazing around.

History

Born into small desert pride, Urujuani was one of four siblings. She grew up in a fairly normal environment, though food was often scarce and as such, she developed a particular obsession with it. She’d devour anything edible as long as it wasn’t breathing, and that was that.

She was never ‘special’. She had friends, because she was nice and easy to get along with, but she was never the leader of the group or the adventurer. She just blended in and went along with what everyone else was doing. Of course, the other cubs got annoyed with her when she’d cry or run away when they were doing something fun, so she often spent time alone, sulking.

Growing into adolescence, Urujuani’s parents began to realise that she didn’t really have a place in the pride. She couldn’t be a breeder, as all males were related to her, and she was a useless hunter with her aversion to violence and her slightly chubby frame. She had also begun to isolate herself, becoming insecure because her splotchy eye made her face look wonky. Eventually, her parents sat her down and told her it was time to leave and find a different pride in which she could make herself useful.

Thus, Uru found herself on the border of Mateso, where her healthy build and fresh blood made her the perfect candidate for a breeder. She was delighted to have found a new life, and has been more than happy to accept her lot within the caves alongside the other breeders. Eagerly, she awaits orders as to when she must bear her first litter.

UVAMIZI HISTORY

Uru was captured by the Uvamizi while still a member of Mateso. She became a slave of the King, Shoka, though their relationship was always a positive one. He treated her with kindness and respect, and he won her heart when he went to get Bisa and bring her back to her mother.

The two became mates, Uru was freed, and she took up her position as Queen of the Uvamizi. Many pridemembers did not like this development as Urujuani was not "pure" Uvamizi, and worse than that, she was a coward. Still, she and Shoka maintained their marriage and brought five beautiful heirs into the world while her daughter, Bisa, also delivered a litter, making Uru a grandmother.

Disaster struck at a feast of all prides when Eeva, Uru's best friend, was trampled by an elephant and begged to be killed out of mercy. Uru complied with this and has been accused of murder by the other members of the pride. This marks a turn for our Queen; she can be a coward no longer. What will happen to her? Only the Gods know.
