about a man named james.i remember one morning at church, hearing my mom and her friend talking about how he shot himself in the head in his grandma's house. and how they put his ashes in the ocean. i was six or seven years old. i knew him. he was twenty something then. i don't think i remember what he looked like. but we went to the same church. and the car my parents drove then, was the car he used to drive. he was friends with my mom and dad.
i don't know why i thought about this recently. why i remembered suddenly, something that happened so long ago. i feel like i didn't know him. i was only six. but i feel so sad about it still. when i think about it. i don't know why i've been thinking about it.

it is full of emotions. different emotions. like anxiety, sadness and regret...I mean it's just what I see. Missing something. And it's a sad story. it's always sad when it's someone you knew. I mean...lol...I don't care and I don't cry when people die. Maybe it sounds cruel but I cry after animals. not after people. but when it's someone you used to know (no not like from Kimbra's song) it's...I dunno...shocking maybe? or some kind death feels ...more real suddenly? and than that strange curiosity to know...why.
anyway...great style and framing.
And congrats on getting a DD. You deserve some attention!

This makes me think of a boy from my church who shot himself earlier this year. Alone in his apartment. 22 years old.
He was from out of state and here for school. I had only talked to him once or twice.

especially...i dunno. a different kind of sad actually...when you don't really know the person. but it still affects you. i bet he didn't know. that it would affect you. i don't think anyone knows the magnitude of the ripple that occurs when they take their life. i doubt james knew that a six year old who didn't really know him would still think about him and wonder. and draw a picture. and these people who ended up seeing it. it blows my mind. i dunno.

Oh, hey, it's you! Congrats on the DD! It's strange when tragic incidents like that happen around you when you're really young, maybe your brain is still trying to process it. This kind of makes me think of a dark fable of some sort and I like all the textures.

Well, personally, i think your art is all very beautiful in a strange, personal way..
and every. single. piece. has more soul in it than all of mine combined. like, you aren't just like "let's draw pretty people!" your pieces are actually really thought-provoking. they tell a story, without saying anything.

wow. This is terribly haunting and creepy, but beautifully executed from an artistic standpoint. Normally, I'm not one to favorite morbid art, but this one really seemed to stand out to me - especially reading the story behind it all.

This is a beautiful and creepy picture, alot of times you think of childhood memories randomly, some for the better and some for the worse. Recently I've been thinking about alot of random people I met when I was young and never talked to again, wondeirng how they grew up and if they were still alive. It just randomly comes and passes, but I'm glad your's at least gave you such a wonderful picture in the end.
