my sketchbooks paper is that kind you gotta color hard because of its rough texture, if that makes any sense. like it leaves tons of white.

Well, you see, when I'm coloring with my pencils I color in circles so it looks soft, also it doesn't live much white... Hope you understood what I meant XD

do you use prismacolors? :SI use them, but only go in circles when I use my blender. i think I need to sharpen some of them too.

Hehe, well... um... I suck at explaining, but first of all, I always color in circles, not "lines". And when I want to shade, I just press the pencil harder, then I color with a darker pencil on it (only if I have a darker pencil, if not... the closest one xD like, for shading blue I use purple). I try to do this very softly, so that the pencil lines don't show so much. Oh, and for shading skin, since I don't have a darker pink, I use orange.
I hope tht wasn't so confusing... >_<
