Maybe he is a ghost who takes care of other ghosts and she's a psychic who also helps ghosts and they sorta met and and fell in love? *shot* Gah I'm SO lame ;_____; Do you write stories? If you have time, you can make one for them?

Perhaps he was bound to earth life because errrr... he had to do something? Like save certain number of souls or... something? Or a certain soul? Or... correct something? Um some cheap thing like this, but then he *dramatic tune* was unable to do it for years and years until he met her and she helped him and then he was free to go live his afterlife and whatever, and so she'd be never able to see him again, unless she dies. Or something. Haha

But yeah!! He stayed behind because he was looking for his brother or something, but maybe they survived. And in the search for his brother she falls in love with him and this would be the ending when they find out he's alive and what not and she can be all "no! Don't leave me!" And then they make that promise to meet in the afterlife. o': And he can try to wipe a tear from her eye before he bursts into many bulbs of light.
