Description I haven't submitted anything for a looooong ass time, so here's something I drew a month or two ago.

This was going to be a weapon for a character but I decided it just looked too goofy for him. Basically it's a normal revolver with a, underbarrel shotgun. The shotgun fires from a 2-round revolver thing similar to what you might see in the game Borderlands.

NOTE: After deciding not to have my character use this revolver, I designed a new revolver for the character, which can be found here: [link]

I'd like to also add Your work on guns is very decent. You just need to work with the inner mechanics of the weapon. Then figuring out how they would work in your fictional universe will give more appreciation and depth to your creation

Thanks. Most of my designs I try to make as reasonably conventional as possible; I never really come up with exact inner workings, but I try to make them appear as if they could at least ALMOST work in real life.

Same thing with any Virus or Feral creation I draw. Those are to genetic experiments, And I've taken long periods of time to try to make them work semi-logically. As in mutations that work. Small details, and explanations as to how it even happens. You should give me a basis as to how to make fire arms.

While the inner workings of firearms can be complicated beyond all hell, you can usually figure out the basics through studying different firearms and their various methods of firing. Single fire weapons (like bolt-action rifles) are easiest; open bolt, insert cartridge, close bolt, fire. Semi-automatic and fully automatic weapons get a bit more complex because the way they're able to fire more than one shot is that they use some of the gases that are propelling the bullet and send it down a gas tube to automatically push open the bolt, therefore ejecting the cartridge and loading the next. Most of my designs are mainly concerned with looking similar to real weapons so that they at least appear conventional. For my more unique designs I try to give a simple explanation of how it would work if it isn't obvious. With rifles and such the thing I spend the most time on is usually making sure I leave enough room on the weapon for the bolt and such to move (some automatic firearms in the past have been made so the bolt is exposed when it moves back but that generally produces a risk of injury to the user).

I design cybernetic appendages with their own use. I base them off of hydraulic presses, and complicated locking mechanisms. I mainly try to make everything sync together, and realistically fit in an unrealistic way. With firearms I always base mine off the idea of them being constructed through transformation inside the bionic limbs. Normally through emerging or moving, and clicking until all the pieces are set correctly. Problem is that drawing such complicated machines means that I have to draw realistic fire arms with them Making the design clash causing the fire arms to look bulky, and over sized. Also I'm trying to design a holster for munitions in the shoulder (where as the weapon is on the fore arm) the general thought is robotic arms hydraulically grab the clips of ammo and manually insert them inside the weapon, but so far I haven't made any clean drafts. Usually meaning fire arms seem to only have one cartridge, and no ammo for back up. Is there any suggestions as how to make this system fit in a scene such as I'm describing?possibly look through some of my art to get a general basis "You are Virus" is a very good example of what I'm trying to make.

Sorry for taking a ridiculous amount of time to respond. A lot of shit just happened in my life and more and more things kept coming up and it was a total shitstorm. >_<

Yeah, biomechanical type stuff isn't the easiest to make look realistic, since its pretty outlandish on its own, much less with firearms in the mix. I suppose what you could do is make it so the arms grab the magazines off of a bandolier or out of a magazine pouch or something, though if you wanted everything fully integrated there could be some sort of storage unit thing in the upper arm/shoulder area...

I know this isn't quite what you were talking about, but in the movie Appleseed ExMachina there's a cyborg character with an interesting magazine carrying function thing. Here's a clip from the movie showing it (it's around 1:55 in the clip) [link]
