Description "When I think of Jeff, I think of the person who put his life in peril and freed me from a state of servitude. I would risk non-functionality for him, and my core programming should reflect that."

A very hard decision to come to at the end. On one hand, EDI would be willing to be non-functional to make sure the Reapers are destroyed, on the other, this couple would survive if Shepard would gamble the fate of the Galaxy with the Reapers involved. A hard choice, but one choice that I have an idea to make better afterward:

I don't think EDI would choose to die just to destroy the Reapers if she knew that they no longer pose a threat. And since the Leviathans were the ones that started this whole mess, I don't see the reason for destroying the Reapers anymore either.

Synthetics take new information in and rewrite their own programming accordingly. Organics seem to be unwilling to do that in a lot of cases, and they stick with old ideas even if everything around them tells them it's wrong.

All apart of the debate the non-biased gamers participate in. It's a good piece by the way.

As much as I don't like the "control" or "synthesis" ending, the only to choose either one of those, for me, is to keep these two together.  This was the one couple I'd hope would survive the "destroy" ending...

I don't like the destroy ending. But they are one of the best couples of Mass Effect.
