Description This camp was part of the Nazi's answer to Lebensraum. No need to go in to how evil the Nazi party really was. All I will say is that Auschwitz was a haunting, disturbing and upsetting place to visit and it should be experienced by all to help prevent barbaric acts such as racism, segregation and genocide.

On an artistic note, I've tried experimenting with the way I process my photographs through photoshop...This is due to my love of Opeth and their Album covers which inspired me to try a similar style.

Poland, Auschwitz, 2007.

You've managed to portray the atmosphere and mood well through the overall darkness and low saturation.

I like how there seems to be people in the distance, as if to emphasise the humanity of this... or lack of humanity, perhaps.

The portrait format fits well and the framing is great, overall. It wouldn't have hurt to have moved the camera more to the right, but it's a profound piece, regardless.

Thank you very much 3wyl - You know how to make me smile!

Yes, I do wish the camera was slightly more to the right myself. I plan to go back there someday, so I shall definately do it right next time!

Thanks for the very high praise - It means a lot coming from you!

Really good photo and well processed. It really gives a sense of the haunted atmosphere - and how cold and grim it actually was there.
I didn't even realise you had taken any photos there... least we weren't like those bloody American girls posing outside and grinning. No sensitivity whatsoever.

Awh, thanks Laura! As I remember, you and a few others were just off to the left of this picture.

I'm glad you approve of it though, seeing as you have been there too and think that I've done it right, is great

The American's were highly annoying that day....Who eats Ice Cream at the remains of a Nazi Concentration/Death Camp? Fools...No respect.

This photo and its stark solemnity is haunting. So much so I can feel death emanate from it.

You wouldnt believe how haunting Auschwitz is...While I was there I didnt see one single bird in the sky nor any form life in the surrounding nature...Which was probably just a coinsidence...Reguardless, i'm glad that the photograph makes you feel something

Thank you for your thoughts and fave
