Description The Days That Followed

It has been four days since I deserted the Syndicate… Although it is where I was stationed with my team, I am hiding out in Twilight Town, there really was no point going anywhere else… there are Syndicate operates on most worlds, we haven't even all met, so I would be at higher risk where I couldn't see the enemy coming since the other members will be soon informed of my desertion and will be looking for me… Xacleb thought, as he sat on a bench in the deserted town square. He looked up at the large moon in the sky. To think I would hide here, of all places… this fake Twilight Town was quite convenient to hide in once I'd rebooted that computer. Though I did block off the entrance to that computer room, I'm surprised the team hasn't found me here… He thought to himself sighing, he did not want to leave the Syndicate, and yet, something was compelling him to run from them, to find the answers to his strange "feelings" as of late.

"Feelings? Ha! I thought us Nobodies weren't supposed to have hearts to feel with… and yet… what caused me to hesitate then?"

"If you will not give your powers for the Syndicate then our leader has ordered us to use force. This is your last warning!" Xacleb said coldly, but the hooded figure he addressed said nothing, they remained unfazed. Lexyk jumped forward to confront the person, with Heartix and Anakx following. They all attacked at the stranger but multiple Nobody "Slashers" appeared and attacked them from behind.

A blast of lightning took them out and the stranger then began to retreat. Lexyk and Heartix continued to follow while Anakx turned her attention to Xacleb.

"Thanks. We we're being careless…" Anakx began to apologize.

"Don't worry, that's why I've got my team's back." Xacleb said, Anakx nodded in agreement and they both gave chase too.

The stranger then turned and summoned a katana  and a group of eight more Slashers. They then all rushed at the pursuers.

"Xacleb! You go retrieve that Nobody, we'll handle these fools!" Lexyk yelled. Xacleb nodded in compliance and leapt over the group and continued chasing the hooded figure.

"You can't win, so why don't you quit." Xacleb said, but received no reply. "Stay silent all you want but that won't change anything." He said and rushed the figure, his hand glowing with electrical energy.

The figure dodged his hand and slashed at him with their katana, but Xacleb dodged it with his speed. the person continued to attack him but he was able to dodge the attacks, though he notice that his opponent did possess quite an admirable level of strength.

The two continued to dodge one another's attacks until Xacleb heard a cry from his teammate Anakx. A sudden fleeting feeling crossed his mind and he turned, to see his companions being swarmed by more and more Slashers. His opponent took their chance and stabbed him in the side, then disappeared through a corridor of darkness. Xacleb cringed and clutched his side then held out his hand. A large amount of energy shot from his hand and all the Slashers were struck with a powerful bolt of lightning… anything after that was a blur up until he spoke with the superiors about his failure.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Why did I get worried for my team… they are… were my team but they are all capable of handling themselves, even my last attack would have been unnecessary. But why did I let my guard down so easily. In these last two years, I've never screwed up like this, not even as a novice fighter when I was first brought in…" Xacleb said to himself remembering that last mission. "Why…?"

He sat there for quite a long time then suddenly yawned. He realized he had not slept in the last four days either, for fear that he would be caught off guard. He stood and retired himself to a house that in the real Twilight Town that he had once considered his home, where he and his team had resided in, near the Sunset Terrace. He entered his room and laid down on his cot. The room ironically still looked just as it had when he was last there, even though he had not made the computer design it that way. As he laid there in his bed waiting for sleep, he laughed at the thought that crossed his mind that someone such as him, who had no heart, could really respect the value of a place to call home…

"Any luck yet?"

"No, I have had no sight of him yet. Are you sure his pressence was here?"

"We have to keep looking. He needs to face the superiors for his recent actions. Lexyk, research the recent tunnels they've been working on. I'll check the further destinations of the train system. Anakx…?"

"I'll be heading to the old mansion they closed of a few years ago, it would be worth the look."

"Alright, babes time to be off then…" Lexyk said and left, followed by Heartix.

"Xacleb, I must find you…"
