Description Behold! He has risen! Vampire Frollo!   I should have saved this for Halloween...but that's a long way off. Happy Easter everyone!

Music  www.youtube.com/watch?v=mX5qpR…   Terminus  - Audiomachine

In fire and madness it ended.
He felt nothing, not even perceive the passage of time, Around him was nothing but endless and absolute darkness. From somewhere in oblivion his consciousness screamed voiceless out against the nothingness, desperate for some sort of contact or stimulus, though he no longer felt physical pain, it was nevertheless of a whole different kind of agony in this place of absolute emptiness, with not even a tormentor for company.

"Stone and flesh, much of is it the same with this one." A voice in the dark spoke; angelic or demonic, the disembodied soul did not know. " Hollowed is the soul, and yet, there is a great passion, heretofore suppressed, it is wild and untamed, seeking a release."
"For this one, it will be no less what he has made of himself. "Replied a second.
Together the voices spoke as one. "It is decided. The plea has been heard and the sentence is pronounced. It is done."

Blackness reached, Claude swam through the darkness, stroked the surface, he cried out for relief, more out of automatic ingrained response than a gasp for air, for the need to breathe had passed with his life.  A moan escaped from him, but the deep sound gave him something to swim towards, something to hold on to as substance was restored to him.
All of a sudden, he felt himself jerked back towards his own body as if his soul were on a string. He felt the stretch of every muscle and the expansion and contraction of his lungs, it pulled him up out of the black pit that threatened to enfold him fast, like being pushed upwards out of a grave into the light of consciousness.

His senses and mind returned to him with a preternatural clarity as if a great weight had landed on his shoulders, it was almost painful, as he was forced to reflect on the events that had led up to this moment. The raging madness that had saturated his brain had faded, but the realisation that he was in love with the Gypsy girl had been almost like a physical blow. Since the deaths of his parents, his whole life had been solely concerned, at first on his own survival, and later during his career as a Minister and caregiver to Quasimodo; with all its pressures and responsibilities, love had not a luxury that he was able to indulge in nor wanted.
The concept of love and passion was completely foreign to him, for it served no useful purpose or part of his plans. But the emotion had burst out of him so strongly, like some beast, clawing it's way out of its prison that was his skull. It was a completely new and seemingly unnatural experience, and it had sent his mind reeling into unforeseeable madness, wild desires and pure single-minded determination had caused him to tear through the city to flush her out and thus purge himself. In those hours it seemed that Hell itself opened up under his touch as Paris burned...and taken him down with it.

And yet now...  he lived, in some form, some reality at least. It certainly wasn't Hell he expected with fire and brimstone, but far from Heaven too, delivered to the exact same spot of his passing on the steps, his final resting place in the shadow of the great church. How strange it felt to be literally standing upon one's own grave, he had to repress a shudder. Through all the madness, that at least had remained constant, a beacon of familiarity to get his bearings. Deep down he knew that forever he would feel that connection, always would he be drawn too it. The blood on these stones ran deep.
At that moment he became acutely aware of how under-clothed he was. All of his symbols of power, his hat, his rings were gone. He was dressed in a simple gossamer white chemise, and what appeared to be a shadowy, partial facsimile of the tattered remains of his robes that swirled about him like smoke. Yet he did not feel cold, far from it. Other than a strange growing sensation within he couldn't yet identify, he felt quite comfortable. Only his modesty made him feel uncomfortably exposed.

He marched towards the church, but as he approached the great doors it seemed that the very air through which he moved became thick, and upon reaching the threshold, a brilliant light blinded his vision, causing him to shield his eyes with his hands, he could do nothing but stumble back onto his knees, the light fading as rapidly as it had appeared.
''What is this madness!'' he spoke as he examined his hands. The fingernails were lengthened and tapered to points.  He saw that the flesh was free of burns,  pristine and whiter than what was natural, as if all the blood had been drained from him. Within his mouth he felt teeth that were longer and sharper than usual, the tips occluding neatly into corresponding grooves in his jawbone, like blades into scabbards to accommodate for their increased length.

His senses were considerably heightened. All around him was dark, yet he saw through the night as clearly as if it were on the brightest of days. Scents and sounds saturated the air. There were no other people in sight, yet he knew them to be there, behind the walls of their houses. He perceived the frantic scurrying of rats and other forms of small life in the eves and the gutters; the thud of their heartbeats compounding into one deafening drone...blood pumping, arteries surging...life...
The very thought of it brought moisture to his mouth. Suddenly with horror, he realised what that hollow sensation within was, the hunger pangs of the sustenance that he now craved, he knew now what he now was. A creature, an escapee from the pits of Hell, under a thin veneer of humanity.
" No!" he despaired, he beseeched the Virgin Mother, burying his face in his clawed hands. "This cannot be the way! My life and work were of dedication and righteousness. Why does fate make me suffer.... to be deserving of this?! " He pounded a fist onto the stone step, his increased strength cracking its surface. His face lowered, so close that the tip his nose brushed the cold ground. A sob escaped him, but his wracked breaths no longer misted in the frigid air. He was cold inside, so cold. His fear suddenly slid to anger "I knew it! That witch! ... She cursed me to walk the Earth as strigoi!"

Looking up, he rose from the ground. The soft light rays of a crescent moon streamed down through the trefoils from behind, silhouetting them darkly against the rapidly darkening sky, silvering their edges of the towers with an ethereal radiance. He got the feeling of a pressure as if the cathedral was considering him so closely that the whole weight of its thoughts was bent on him, looming. A physical representation of the Divine on Earth.
Even the brightest of lights could cast shadows, blind, betray, he thought bitterly. He was so angry, angry at her, and at the Lord for allowing it. For now, he was barred, cut off from that light to be a creature that dwelled in darkness. So be it. He turned his back on it, barring his newly sharpened teeth in such a way, it felt so natural. At this moment he cared not if his heart was stone or if it even beat at all. And in kind, the sculptured stone monsters and guardians on the facade leered and roared at his unwelcome presence, at this monster he had become. There was no truer description. Even before his fall, he had become a hollowed out husk of a man, feared and despised by all, the monster of children's tales and whispered in nightmares. He'd morphed into a bloodthirsty fiend a long time before it became this physical reality.

How much time had elapsed between the moments of his death and resurrection he couldn't tell.  For high above, the jutting stone gargoyle that he had clung to had been repaired, resuming its place on the cathedral to gaze across the city in an eternal untiring vigil. It was all as if nothing had ever happened. Had they forgotten him already? Could he dare reveal himself? Explain his changed appearance and miraculous return?
That's what he would say it was...Yes, miraculous! Righteous and Divine judgement. He had been sent back granted with powers that would enable him to smite sinners forever. After all, he reiterated, the Lord works in mysterious ways. That has not or never would change.

He saw his shadow cast by the moonlight move across the ground like a wraith as he set off purposely into the night towards the Palace of Justice, his footfalls all the more eerie in their silence, effortless; it seemed that he glided on the air.  A rat shrieked in alarm as it scuttled across his path. It's fear of him only increased his desire. This new kind of hunger superseding another; a reminder of a hidden part of himself that was starving.

In a burst of speed, he had caught it swiftly and to his surprise, it seemed to relax in his grip as if in a trance.  As he brought it to his lips, the thought of consuming blood repulsed him, but could he resist? Perhaps, for a while, after all, there was more than enough vermin in Paris, and he didn't necessarily mean the rats.

I decided to place his fangs on where the lateral incisors would be,  because personally, this more anterior placement on human mouths work better as we don't have muzzles, with side opening mouths to allow a wide bite, unless they have jaws like snakes or can be extended them or something. It also helps if they aren't mega long- just need to be really sharp.  Besides, even vampire bats draw blood with their incisors.

Now as I sink my teeth into a chocolate bunny, here's more Vampire Frollo pictures I have encountered from my wanderings

thanks, I always  thought  he’d fit the role quite nicely, gothic settings and all after all in ways he already was, had a position of power and kind of preyed upon people.

Haha yeah, I always thought so, in some ways he's as close to a vampire as a human can get. You know if I were to just watch a few seconds clip of the cathedral scene, without knowing what film it was, I could swear he was going to bite Esme's neck XD

''That Gypsy witch!'' Well he thinks that he was cursed- as Strigoi are; he wasn't bitten, he was turned into one by otherworldly powers after his death as punishment, so he's  a Master, and not subservient to a sire.

I thought I draw him in his white chemise- and that's all he's wearing; the semi-translucent ones-
He's certainly make a fantastic vampire, aristocratic,  gothic settings, he already preys on people, and he's already pale, sooo...not much change there

Oh shoot, I must have skipped that.  I was distracted when I was reading.   Sorry about that. I reread it.

He does make a great vampire. He can prey on me anytime. Too bad he can't catch a break though. To be able to even try to change. I only see this predicament making him even more bitter and angry. He would have to let go of his pride though. But that is all apart of changing. I would love to believe that someone out there could show him love and make him realize that it's not a waste of time and that what he feels isn't a bad thing.

Oh it's fine I kinda of bunged the story in at the last minute anyhow
Oh true, that's the root of his problem, his pride; source of all sin. Well now he's the 'monster', it should give him a taste of his own medicine...he's got an undead eternity to learn of that now. But will be tough for him

Vixie1979 In reply to CyberRaven [2017-04-17 19:25:40 +0000 UTC]

I always saw his pride as just a really thin glassy mask, that could break at the slightest crack (Esmeralda). As well as his arrogance and so forth. The real Claude Frollo got stamped out by his parents and peers maybe. I always pictured him as a by product of his father's teachings. His father trying to stamp out who Claude really was. Which was imaginative, open minded and curious of all things. His father also trying to stamp out any form of passion inside him...being romantic or artistic. But the real Frollo wasn't completely stamped out and Esme woke that part of him, but because of all the brainwashing he reacted in fear and desperation. So that prompted him to try to eliminate the source of his sin. Esme in his mind was the sin. When it's really just his natural self coming out.

I see Frollo as someone that naturally enjoys sex and the pleasures of life deep down. The walls he puts up are his arrogance and pride.

That's a nice idea;  I think that's the very puzzle and appeal of the character-the mystery- we don't know what his upbringing was like to make him the way he was and what he truly is inside.

Vixie1979 In reply to CyberRaven [2017-04-17 19:49:36 +0000 UTC]

Yes and because he didn't really have a past (especially in the Disney version) It's kind of open ended. I guess I go off more of factual evidence that hate, intolerance and fear are taught. But, it could have been a number of things. It could have been a girl that broke his heart...It's so endless really.

I like your outer worldly ideas of him either becoming what is hunted or hunting beast from a literal hell as a repentance of his transgressions in a past life. I REALLY love the past life idea. Or even an alternative lifetime.

You're welcome! Yes, I agree. I do hope one day he'll reach that moment where he's done all he can and is finally free.

I wonder what his heaven consist of. Not what people joke about, but his true heaven.

I know this sounds kinda cheesy. But I always picture him in a field, on a warm day, just taking in nature and not having to make the big decisions anymore, or carry out the kings orders, or be feared. He's just present, lying in a field, with the sun shining on him.

[ I need a moment to organize my ideas!
Happy Easter, much blessings for you and your loved ones!

Please, do not say you cannot write, because you can do it beautifully! I am in love with the story that compliments your wonderful drawing so well. Woman, the feels, it all left me with a knot on my throat, the despair of returning to the church, to clung to your Faith, knowing there will be hope, solace and mercy, only to find one is soulless and an impure undead that all of those are as if denied, that now you are to recoil, it hurts, it hurts right in the feels T_T
Everything is doing awesomely to all detail, from the shadows behind him to his eyes, and the colours, everything! And his expression, is like he was about to break down and cry, alas, he had no tears now.
I also love you wrote him saying strigoi, as the words vampire was not created yet.
Now, allow me to implode..... *implodes* Cyber, you drew him on his infamous translucent white chemise!!! *implodes again* But he kept the rigs, it seems, great details! This is amazing, this is exactly what he wears on the RPs he is around on his chemise only... yes, is unholy, this is why the chemise is always refereed as infamous!
Thank you ever so much for drawing this amazing picture!  ]

CyberRaven In reply to WDisneyRP-Frollo [2017-04-16 10:54:38 +0000 UTC]

Oh same for you , happy Easter

well, I still find it difficult, but it makes me glad to hear that, thank you I wasn't going to write a story with it, hence the reason he's with rings,  he shouldn't probably be with them, unless they survived the heat, and were found, but I  love drawing them- so he has them on.

Oh yes, much feels  such a terrible thing for one to endure, I was feeling sad writing it, if that isn't hurtful and frightening  if one had such beliefs, I don't what is. I think he'd fear that more than the actual physical transformation. Certainly not all torture is physical. It cuts really deep.
Ah yes, Strigoi, the word use; the legends are old but the word  vampire new, although strangely enough the word vampire is used in book a few times too, oops! though I can't remember if it's spoken or thought by a character or it's just descriptive. Hmmm.

I felt to to be more apt too, since such creatures are said troubled spirits to be created not from a bite, but other things; from committing sins, or dying unmarried, or from being cursed by a witch- ha. Yep, I can tick off most of those things with Frolls That's him all over-Still finding reasons for blaming that gypsy girl.
yes oh yes! A vampire Frollo in the infamous chemise!  How could I not!
aww man- you know I think the most funny thing is, drawing him and seeing with actual teeth, vampire or no - the usual Disney style that detail is usually left out haha!

[ Thank you, you are very sweet!
Aaww, you wrote the story so well, and filled with emotions, I like it! *sigs* Yes, the feels are strong on this one , no sanctuary for him, the torment is now almost eternal, a torture for the soul, this is a tragedy, even if he finds friends they will age away and die and he would still wander the world in loneliness and having to ignominiously hunt small creatures or preying on those who were once his kind; it all makes me go berserk, Frollo must be saved, cut his head, take out that stone heart burn it and make Quasi drink the ashes, or the stake and hammer routine ...... Oh, forgive me, I am bricked with the sorrow here. Is amazing that your drawing and writing can move all these feels on the readers, great job!
Agree, someone can become vampire by different sources aside form a bite, from a curse to also for ending with one's own life, and I am not sure, but I recall something about being buried at a cross road ( ? ).
Ha ha ha, yes, I think Frollo said it, I will copy-paste!   "So saying, Master Jacques unrolled a parchment. "Give it here," said the archdeacon. And casting his eyes upon this writing: "Pure magic, Master Jacques!" he exclaimed. "'Emen-Hétan!' 'Tis the cry of the vampires when they arrive at the witches' sabbath. Per ipsum, et cum ipso, et in ipso! 'Tis the command which chains the devil in hell. Hax, pax, max! that refers to medicine. A formula against the bite of mad dogs. Master Jacques! you are procurator to the king in the Ecclesiastical Courts: this parchment is abominable"........ Oooops! XD Yes, vampire folklore is as old as time, but the word was created more recently, I guess it was in use during Victor Hugo's era?

Frollo is the one of more realism on his design so his teeth are visible unlike others, but the depiction is not as accurate, and the vampire fangs you gave him are perfect! And OMG, infamous chemise means chemise action, he was even to dare going downstairs, leaving the bell tower during night and march to the altar to battle Maleficent, wearing his  infamous nightwear only  But now that he is Count Frollo, he probably would be able to wear something regal again and also keep Snowball.

Aawww Bunnies! That icon is cute; and  I am so full of chocolate eggs
Ah yes, I  thought so, thanks for confirming; Frollo said it himself haha; historically inaccurate in the era of the book, but the word I think was around when Hugo wrote the book.
Yes must be saved! Oh dear yes- there is so much vampire lore, so many ways; I think if you plan on writing fiction/making a movie etc, you've just got a pick out a set of 'rules'- half of it if is figuring out what abilities they have, how they are created and what works against them and what doesn't. Some Vampires, esp the early ones are even immune to sunlight - it's so varied!

Teeth believe me, having a a job working in the dental profession, that's always the first thing I notice- it has to be just right- lol he needs orthodontics surgery to move his lower jaw back, he's got a bit of a class 3 bite. Vamps don't need huge teeth - just very sharp to make incisions to draw blood -so I gave him quite 'dainty' fangs XD

Haha chemise action- I bet Mal got a right eyeful

[ Aaawww man! Here we are stuffed with cake!
Yes, ha ha ha, I was not able to remember who said the word; I tought it was a way to describe him and Jacques in the chapter Two Men in Black Clothes (is this correct? ), but no, Frolls himself pronounced vampire XD
Let's save him! Len Van Helsing shall help! Amen, the folklore is so vast, yes we have from those that had appearance of zombies, to the ones immune to sunlight, or shape their forms into mist, and is also related to Lilith, Lamia (spelling) and plenty of stories, is al fascinating, but as you stated, one must choose carefully the settings, and please no sparking vampires allowed.

Oh yes, I noticed but I was not sure what it was!  I thought it could be mandibular prognathism, would you say this is correct, is the same as 3 class bite?!  I found interesting that Kathy included this detail on her design, it was considered bone deformity and he is always trying to be perfect and has no problem on reminding Quasi to be deform, when the one with a trouble right on his face and also maybe troubles chewing is himself.

Malefy probably had some eye candy , all right! She was confronting Frollo in order to make him return the staff he stole from her, so in a point of the RP in which Quasi, Frolls and Malefy were chasing at the cathedral's roof, inside [  ]  or in a note ( I can't remember well ),  Malefy said something on the lines of "oh, I see now where you had hidden the staff!"
Esme had seen chemise action too *I facepalm myself* ... this madness, this is Sparta!  ]

CyberRaven In reply to WDisneyRP-Frollo [2017-04-17 11:52:14 +0000 UTC]

Mandibular prognathism you got it, that's the general term for it, though it doesn't always cause problems with eating, depends on severity and other factors, but it is usually corrected. Hmmm yes that is a interesting point, telling Quasi how deformed he is, though he has a slight deformity himself- lol -such a hypocrite!

Oh oh god No! No sparkly vampires; that abomination shouldn't be allowed.

The vampires in this show are not killed by sunlight- though they get bad sunburn, so keep away from it, they are more of what I call a'realistic' style, - they don't shapeshift and are not affected by crosses/holy water, etc,  but at least they don't sparkle.

( Ha ha ha, sounds great!
I like the different interpretations of vampires, just not sparkling ones XD )

what the heck made the author think that was a good idea to attribute that to vampires IDK. I don't like it, but I will say it has the merit of never been tried.

( I don't know what was she thinking; perhaps an attempt to be creative, but no, just no, it gives the impression that she read not much about vampire folklore. )

I think she just made it up as she went along. Give me Dracula to read anytime lol.

( Dracula, yes, so much yes! One of my favourite novels of all times, I also like vampire stories like Carmilla, leave the dead alone, and such. )

I think I've read a bit of Carmilla-not sure if it was all it; it was in a compilation book that had a few short vampire stories in it. I can't remember much about the others,  though I do remember  one called 'The Cloak' by Robert Bloch  - I was looking for it the other day in the shed, but couldn't find it, I fear it may have been thrown out and I've read a book adaption of the Scars of Dracula - it was made into a cringeworthy Hammer horror pictures film- though not sure what came first, book or film

( I too have a book on vampire stories, but Carmilla is an a small, separated book.
Aaaww no hope you can find your book or a new one!

Ha ha ha, Hammer horror! I have only seen a couple of their vampire films, I think they are much fun. )
