Background

Cecil is a dunesfolk in origin but has been abandoned by his parents when he was young. It was suspected that his original hometown was greatly struggling with the lack of crystals and resources were scarce. There were rumors that some villages around Varlandia were abandoning children to reduce the population and save food for everyone. He heard all this when he was growing up and thought it hurt, tried it to keep it from back of his mind.

He was found as a baby on the entrance of a small plainsfolk village and only the kind village elder willingly took him in. There was much opposition because the plainsfolk village itself was not much better off, but the elder believed that all lives must be saved. Thus he was named Cecil Pecil in a plainsfolk way.

However his bright colored hair and irises were subject of great teasing while he was growing up. Most plainsfolks had very natural colored hair and irises but his bright pink hair and green irises stood out too much. Sometimes it even hindered when the village went out hunting for food. Cecil was given the task of guarding the village entrance and though meager in responsibility, he trained very hard at swordsmanship to prove himself.

As much as he was hurt from all the bullying and the teasing, under the guidance of the kind village elder he wanted to give back to the village for letting him stay. When the news came along that the king has devised a special division to ward off the miasma, Cecil knew this was his chance. He volunteered to venture out to the major cities and joined a guild, ready to prove himself and give prosperity back to his village.
Chocobo Relation

Cancho actually came along with Cecil when he was little. Inside the blanket where baby Cecil was wrapped up in, a small chocobo egg was also there. After 7 months, the chocobo hatched. It would be a while before it earned its name of Cancho, because of how it sneezes. During Cecil's time in the village Cancho was its only friend because there were no other friends or chocobo in the village. Cancho was a very chubby chocobo and although this made the teasing even more worse, it made Cancho and Cecil even closer.

Like Cecil it is very energetic and willing to do anything but its fat stature sometimes prevents it from doing a long sprint. The only way to completely motivate him is to lure him with sugar or anything sweet. (possibly this is why the chocobo is so goddamn fat... )

- Stereotypical shota type. Seems to have some kind of charm that attracts all onee-sans and onii-sans
- Not a complete airhead. Surprisingly good at gathering information. Possibly due to his disarming and innocent demeanor
