Yay! I'm glad you enjoy it. I may have already said this, but
the scanner screwed up the left side of the drawing because of it
being in my sketchbook...

Been my fave summon since ff 3 :3

CyborgSlunk In reply to Nevanth [2010-11-19 03:46:30 +0000 UTC]

I'd have to agree. Out of all of the summons, I enjoy using him the most. He's adorable in pretty much all of em. Shiva's pretty in some, and Ifrit is just badass in X.. but I don't use him much in any others. I love the fact that he's fire though... I like fire... O_O But Bahamut is a dragon, and I have a soft spot for those.

Sweet!
Anyone who knows good RPG's should know of that one.
That is by far my favorite RPG. It's got an incredible
story, incredible battle system (for it's time XD),
and jeebus the score. The music definitely made the game
special for me... O_O

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-11-17 10:21:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I fully agree, it's a very involving game. with awesome music ^^
Only it could be a bit shorter for me. The side quests were okay, but there could still be something else.

Anyway, yeah, I loved all that travelling through the time and visiting all epochs motive. I especially liked the part, while we find purselves in 12.000 B.C. epoch and that mess around a Mammon Machine as and origin of most events in the game, very good story.

Yeah, the battle system was cool, mostly in DS version

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-11-17 10:38:50 +0000 UTC]

Actually, my favorite music comes from 12,000 BC. When you're in the sky city. I love it. Favorite song from that game. I'd agree with the side quests, but if you're not trying to get to the end, they can be fun, and hilarious! Flying through different times is a fun experience and a new breakthrough for a game. It gave a good feel, something I haven't had the pleasure of knowing before that game.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-11-17 10:47:08 +0000 UTC]

yeah, exactly ^^ that music is awesome, so climatic ^^
just perfect for these times, which seems to be most pleasant until the event with an awakening of Lavos
that music is also played, while Melchior (the guru of life) prepares Masamune

yup, I really liked that one with King's Guardia trial, very good side motive
and it was also good to get to know about Robo's origins and a sad reality in a bad future

indeed ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-11-17 10:55:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's how I fell in love with it. When I first came across it, I freaked out. I was like, "OMG I NEED THAT SONG MAO!! LKDSNLEHTLSKNDFVHKQOHWT!!"

The side quests are great for good weapons such as the Rainbow...

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-11-17 11:07:55 +0000 UTC]

hehe, lolz xD
it's probably named 'the corridors of time' and it's just perfect for the Zeal epoch
and whyich epoch is your favourite one, by the way?

eah, that pistol for Lucca seems to be very useful at times, while it can deal even about 2000 of damage
but it also can be very weak sadly

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-11-18 06:30:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that's the name. It is a perfect name for that.
I think my favorite time period... go figure
is 12,000 BC. It's got a very mystical feel to it.
I really like being in Zeal... I'm not too fond of
the Giga Gaia battle, but it is a very memorable boss
fight. I DO like the weird horned beast things though.
I loved their colors. I strongly disliked 65,000,000 BC.
It's not like it's terrible, but I didn't like the chapter
Footsteps! Follow! After playing it like, 5 times over, I'm
not to fond of it anymore...

I do love that pistol Lucca has. It's ehh...
suspenseful when you're in a boss battle and you
don't know what amount of damage you're going to get. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-11-18 07:26:10 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, exactly. Like, after all weird and sinister places we visit, we at lewast have some peaceful time, that epoch was beautiful. Unfortunately, too bad that we can visit Zeal as that floating kingdom until the Ocean Palace crisis, because Lavos destroys it eternally. ;/

I actually liked battle with Giga Gaia and motive with releasing Melchior

and yeah, exactly the same here! it annoyed me a lot in that epoch - we already did so much to get that Dreamstone and again we have to look after it <.<
but at least it makes a gameplay longer and lets us to meet certain characters like Azala, which we have a decisive battle with later

and I liked that part when we offense a Tyrano Lair

yeah
but sometimes it's so shame it does so little damage ^^'

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-11-21 19:09:49 +0000 UTC]

Sorry. I got a little lazy when it came to replying. O_O
I've always wanted to visit the.. what I suspect is the Sun Shrine...
In Zeal. Though... I think it's impossible.

I like it but I don't. I have my mixed feelings about it.
I do like the idea of releasing Melchoir.. it's cool.
But I've had some... interesting moments in that battle.
My favorite battle... has to be... uhm... Magus.
Everyone probably says that... but it's a really good battle.
If you don't understand the formula at first, it gets really tense
with the theme and whatnot.

Tell me, is Azala a female? In the PS version s/he was a male...
but DS says s/he's a female. <_< I'm so confused!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-11-21 19:56:03 +0000 UTC]

It's okay

Actually no, it's impossible in that epoch. Later you can get there, after you get Epoch (flying machine). It's already after Lavos crisis and it lands in the ocean. And of course in later epochs.

Mhm. But I liked the travel through Mt. Woe, it was cool, though there is hell lot of monsters. But it's good place to get exp for techniques - we get 1000 for beating one rock-like monster, although we have limited time of the battle.

Yeah, it was really climatic. And it make you feel so happy after beating him, because he's not easy. The battle mechanics is quite weird, but playable. And I agree, the music is just perfect for it.
I guess it's my favourite battle too. But I like so much better Zeal epoch than 600 A.D. 600 A.D. is not bad in the story, but it looks sad and not very interesting though.

It's said she's a female. And the name 'Azala' is more female-like.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-11-23 22:04:34 +0000 UTC]

I pretty much figured that. It would satisfy my OCD if I could have visited it sometime before Zeal was destroyed... Rofl.

I love beating the rock monster. Forgot what it was called, but yes. The TP you get after that is very satisfying! O_O

Magus is one of my favorite characters, so it's only fitting that he's also my favorite battle. Lol, I can't say I enjoyed getting to him much, but I did like his subordinate battles. Flea made me laugh pretty hard.

I guess it didn't really matter. I was just curious. It is interesting that Azala is a female. It's pretty much two powers fighting each other, lead by both females. Woo! Girl power! Rofl.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-11-24 07:46:23 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. So when I enter it the first time, I try to enter all places and get all items.

Yup, the same here. They are very nice feature of that epoch. We can also meet few of them in a Blackbird, during the escape. And later in the remnants of Tyrano Lair in 600 A.D.

Yup, he's cool and a powerful mage. Without him, a game is harder to pass.
Haha, yeah. Heh, transvestite motive? In game like that?
But in my op, Oozie is the most funny, he's just so dumb. ;D

Mhm, yep yeap. It seems that females took a lead in prehistory.
But as we know, later Kino inherited a "throne" in Ioka after Ayla ;D

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-11-25 05:35:14 +0000 UTC]

Jees. I will say I like the use of double and triple techs. And Magus isn't exactly good for those... <_<

Ozzie cracks me up. I love the side quest where you go to "Ozzie's Castle". Especially with Magus. The fate of Ozzie is decided with one cute little, "Meeew!"

Kino... made me mad at first. I was like, "Why did you take mah darn key!?" Then I got used to it, and just got it back.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-11-25 07:01:06 +0000 UTC]

Well, yeah. He can use triple techs, but we have to equip him certain items. Omega Flare is actually very effective.

Haha, yeah, that's right. Though it's interesting - our characters fall into a pitfall and they are just one floor down to go up for a while again, while Ozzie falls into a pitfall and dies

Yup, he was annoying at first. But it was a good scene, when Ayla frees him in Tyrano Lair.

Ah, an that was a good scene - we enter the cave of reptites and ask Azala for a gate key, regardless, if we say yes or no, she makes 'come Nizbel!' and then he makes his great entry from beside the gap
he's kinda tough ass, especially because of his maelstorm
but in the second battle, it's much esier to put that dork down

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-11-27 02:17:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I usually don't equip him with anything other than the Amulet though. I do like having null stat ailment junk. It makes things a heck of a lot easier.

I love how everything pretty much stops and stares at the cat. Even the music went away. Then they just watch the cat leave. Then Ozzie dies. XD

Rofl. Yeah, she doesn't believe you if you tell the truth, and gets mad when you don't. So pretty much, it doesn't matter which one you choose, you're in for a boss fight. I will admit Nizbel was tough the first play through. But I did enjoy that battle. It took a bit of strategy.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-11-27 11:14:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's right. I always equip all characters with items preventing from changing status, especially confusion.

Oh right, that music suddenly breaks In the funny way.
Oh and that was also a cool scene, when we are in Magus's Fort and these mosters on chainlifts are supposed to attack us and... they fell down leaving us with no enemies Battle music breaks in ridiculous way. xD So funny moment.

Yeah, I know it right.
Yeah, and we can hit him practically only after using lightning-type techniques
so, if we already have a thunder kick (I'm not sure, if it's the correct name, but that's a doublt technique of Crono and Ayla), it's pretty much useful

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-11-30 08:16:11 +0000 UTC]

Ahh yes. That part was a classic.
Oh Ozzie. How you make us laugh.

Yeah, I think it's thunder kick...
but pfft. Who cares? I get the idea.
I liked using the... volt bite one. But,
I don't exactly remember my strategy for
that guy. All I know is Zap, Attack, Zap,
Attack, Zap, Attack, Zap, Heal, Attack. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-11-30 12:33:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's the most incompetent badass in game ;D
I guess he's just to add some humour to the game.

I guess I haven't that technique at that time (while playing normally, no new game+ as it gives us levels and techniques we had while we passed the game). So my strategy was Lightning + anything the strongest, preferably Ayla's physical techniques.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-12-02 06:17:33 +0000 UTC]

Undoubtedly. The trio were a good
add in to the game. They made us
laugh, and provided a decent challenge
sometimes.

I usually stop using Ayla after I
get her permanently in the party. I
enjoy using Lucca, Crono, and Frog.
They make a cool match. Robo is fun to
use as well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-12-02 06:39:48 +0000 UTC]

yeah
Flea was also a some sorta funny character, as we know, a transvestite ^^'

but yeah, they were good to battle

mhm, she is permanently in team only in quests in her epoch - prehistory, like all other characters
but her physical techniquest are really strong, like she can lift a dinosaur up and throw them nto the air

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-12-03 10:21:48 +0000 UTC]

Ayla is a great character. I've used her in several play throughs, I just... prefer other characters over her. I'm really digging Frog. Though he makes me sad, he CRACKS me up sometimes. Robo is kinda cute, and I've just grown attached to Crono.

Speaking of, we've been on the topic of Chrono Trigger for quite awhile. Are there any other games you're particular to? Like Persona perhaps?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-12-03 13:48:03 +0000 UTC]

well, right, magic can be very effectrive, especially when is joined, but Ayla is also great in team moves, even when she can't use magic herself

yeah, electric technique of Crono and Robo together is really effective

I also love to join Luca and Marle - Antipode Bomb, or Crono, Luca and Marle - Delta Force

at all, shadow magic rocks

yeah, sure, I'm a fan of Persona as well

and do you maybe also know Golden Sun?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-12-04 04:47:18 +0000 UTC]

I'm fond of the Antipode attacks as well. I'd have to say that display wise, I enjoy the second one the best.

Shadow magic makes me smile. ^_^

I know OF it, I have yet to play it though. It looked fun when I was watching my boyfriend play it, but I haven't played it myself.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-12-04 06:10:20 +0000 UTC]

yeah, they are strong
and looks so well

I often used Luminaire + Antipode Bomb III in boss battles with Crono, Marle, Lucca team

Yeah ;]

Ah, I totally suggest you to play it, it's an awesome serie ^^
And you can find it easily in the internet.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-12-04 22:37:44 +0000 UTC]

Luminaire was a great attack. I love the noise it makes too.
I first used it in the second Yakra battle.

I'll definitely give it a go. If it's anything like Shining Force,
I'd love to play it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Masanohashi In reply to CyborgSlunk [2010-12-04 23:55:46 +0000 UTC]

ah, already there? I guess I could use it already in the Ocean Palace
but yeah, it looks cool and what is most important, is very effective

hehe, I actually haven't play Shining Force, but I'm sure you would like GS

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyborgSlunk In reply to Masanohashi [2010-12-06 17:26:48 +0000 UTC]

I like to level grind... It's been in my blood since the first Final Fantasy. You kinda have to level grind in certain games today too. XD

Shining Force 2 is fun. I have yet to play more of the first.
I think when I get the chance I'll pick up GS.
