A Female Exorcist living in the City of Shinjuku, she works and gets paid exorcising people and areas, although she charges absurd prices for them since she is the only Exorcist in town and is the best even with her sleazy nature, she is a heavy drinker and smokes a lot but remains fit as exorcisms can be very dangerous, especially possessions from Devils, when a Demon actually does appear she can uses her aura to destroy them and send them back to Hell

There are actually Demons roaming around the city posing as humans, some are rich and use their wealth to influence other to feed them, the more they feed the more powerful they become, Demons hate Mariko since she has vanquished many of them for years, she has been able to see them since childhood and was bullied for it while her parents sent her to a Mental Institution, over the years she became sarcastic with life constantly making remarks on her life and not caring for people

When she is in trouble she can summons powerful demons and devils but only summons 1 as their is a price to pay after summoning them, she gains a buff depending on which Demon she summons, her most powerful can devastate her enemies but also cause her the most pain after, her 1st summon happened in her childhood where she was bullied by the other kids and begs them to stop hurting her, during her plead she accidentally summons the Devil Lord Sticks the Lord of Darkness

Sticks butchers the children and thanks Mariko releasing him as he kills and drags many people to Hell with his minions and beasts before his summon times out and Mariko is the only survivor of that traumatic experience which became known as the "Day-Care Massacre" as no one knows who actually killed so many people so brutally, Mariko is found covered in blood scarred of what she has seen

As a grown up she summons Sticks but is not afraid of him and will actually threatens to curse him to spend a day in Heaven which is Hell for demons, there are Angels in the world who insult Mariko but also guide her sometimes when something is out of their miracle power, they usually pretend to be humans with menial jobs like janitors or cleaners

She receives help from the Immortal Weston Family like getting Exorcist Spells and runes to aid her, they would even heal her after her summon of a Devil

Mariko: Ah geez, how am I gonna pay rent for this month with this shit pay? Ugh
