Description A redraw of my old Karkadann drawing but with better anatomy deviantart.com/cyclone62/art/Karkadann-750598059

The descriptions I followed:
"the build of a buffalo...a black, scaly skin; a dewlap hanging down under the skin. It has three yellow hooves on each foot...The tail is not long. The eyes lie low, farther down the cheek than is the case with all other animals. On the top of the nose there is a single horn which is bent upwards."
"the horn is conical, bent back towards the head, and longer than a span...the animal's ears protrude on both sides like those of a donkey, and...its upper lip forms into a finger-shape, like the protrusion on the end of an elephant's trunk."

It was described by a few historians and appeared in a few old manuscripts. this creature is not really that much of a mythical beast more of a mistake in Identity, it was most likely a one horned rhino.  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karkadan…

You have to think back in time when learning about these creatures, no one has ever seen a rhino and doesn't know what they look like so they explain it using animals they do know. that's why so many animals were described like  "Had the head of a stag" or  "Body of a horse".

Really obvious what it's describing knowing what a single horned rhinoceros looks like.

That's the great thing about having the internet at our disposal knowing what animals actually look like through photographs instead of hear-say.
it's a lot of fun though drawing descriptions of animals based on how someone 100s of years ago described them.
