Thank you SO much for doing this. I looked at tons of online how-tos and they never explained it as clearly as this one. I can now do this stitch pretty well. Thank you so much again!

Hi I want to alternate colors like in the scarfs in harry potter red/yellow etc. I can already knit just not knit two colors.
Hope you get the gist of what I'm talking about

At the beginning of a new row, just use the new color. When you want to back to the original color, just simply go back. But when you change colors, make sure you always change colors on the same side - don't for one color change change the color on the front side row and for the next color change use the back side row. This will produce unwanted striping effects. Hope that helped.

Thanks! Do I just tie it on?

You leave a long tail - then at the end of your knitting you take your yarn needle (it looks like an oversized sewing needle) and sew it into the knitting.

I think it's much easier to teach someone how to knit face to face... because, i can knit, and i foud that difficult to follow
Which is a pity, because more people should know

I agree that more people should learn knitting or another form of craft like that.

I am also sorry the tutorial was hard for you to follow. All I can say is that everyone is different and there is a tutorial out there on the big internet for everyone. Other people here have said my tutorials have helped, so my attempt wasn't totally in vain. =O

I had to learn from a book which was hard. It took me about a week for knitting to 'click' in my head. o_o That week was one ugly week of knitting.
