The REALLY sensitive fans probably cried when he killed Eggman, despite that technically being a good thing (Sonic himself also has the power to do this & he SHOULD'VE done a long time ago, yet for some reason he just lets him go), & it wasn't even a canon ending, SA2 ended on a bittersweet note by legitimately killing off Shadow, with his popularity being the only reason for his return in Heroes. Some fans probably changed their tunes once they got tired of all the kiddie crap we've been getting for the last 8 or so years. A darker game is fitting for the darker character (hell he was practically on a worldwide kamikaze mission for 90% of SA2, but no one complained then), yet since it's in the Sonic franchise, apparently it's a problem. Nowadays those same fans are absolutely CRAVING a darker Sonic game, especially since Forces failed to deliver. They should've thought about that when they were claiming that their childhood got shot in the face back in '05

And those fans probably haven't even seen the stuff in the TV series and comics, like the Echidna Genocide in the Egg Grape Chamber in the comics and the Mettalix Metalsonic, and the Xorda Gene Bomb raids. And the TV series having stuff like the Metarex committing planetary genocide, and what not. 


Those same fans are craving a darker Sonic game? Then how come I still see them praising Sonic Mania, and that Sonic Mania Adventures? These people seem to think Sonic being awesome is a crime, when that's how he's supposed to be, and what makes him great! 

Not to mention, this Kiddie Crap they say is to "Get Sonic Back to his roots because that's how he's supposed to be." Funny, I legitimately don't remember the Genesis/CD Titles being like that! Like Sonic CD where you see a bleak dystopian environment if you go into the future without collecting the Time Stones or breaking the Robot Teleporters. Or Sonic 3 with the Super Sonic prophecy on the walls and Knuckles betrayal and such. Or Sonic Spinball with some stuff like the VEG-O Machine and such. Sonic wasn't that childish, even back then. 

The other excuse is that it makes him more "Mario-like." Sonic is meant to be everything Mario isn't, Platformer =/= Mario Clone. Heck, this is why I find Sonic better than Mario, since Sonic actually is more awesome!  

If you ask me, it was Sonic Colors that really betrayed us first! And Sonic 06 wasn't nearly as bad as they say, and I actually liked where it was going with the story and such. Then Sonic Colors ruined it all with those cringe-worthy forced jokes like "Baldy-Mcnosehair" and corny imagery and less-serious conflicts and new bad guys who are a total joke. 


And yeah, it's apparently a problem for Sonic, but not other game titles. Like for instance, Megaman did this in the X and Zero series and nobody seemed to mind, so why is it a problem for Sonic? Same with a lot of other games like Zelda and Star Fox for instance. These people are ruining my favorite Anime/Game series of all!

EXACTLY, everything you said is real, & when it comes to the cringy jokes, it doesn't help that the guy voicing Sonic now makes him sound like he's 45 rather than 15. In the games, Sonic doesn't even FEEL cool anymore, he just feels like some old douchebag that's trying to relive his glory days while stuck in a mental time loop. They've done nothing but bring his reputation down more & more, well, at least his modern incarnation anyway, hell the only reason they brought back Classic Sonic is so they can use him as a crutch, which is why he was unnecessarily added in Forces (prepare for Sonic Generations 3 In 2021 or 2022). Albeit he's a very successful crutch, it's still pathetic.The problem with the sensitive side of the fanbase is that they look WAY too into the stories for these games & they take shit too seriously (I feel like 90% of people who hate '06 is because of Elise), it's a franchise about a 3 foot 3 Blue Hedgehog, it's all about imagination, if it wants to get darker every now & then, that's fine, who's it gonna hurt? I'd prefer darker stories (or at least more interesting characters, instead of a bootleg crybaby Mephiles), but either way, I still have hope for the Blue Blur (obviously or I wouldn't be making stuff like that Halloween pic you saw), but my hype for his games isn't on a level to make me buy a game day of release (I did that with Forces, & at the end of the day, I decided that the highlight of that day was the sandwich I got at Subway),

Exactly, there are things that people even overlooked, as it's not entirely lighthearted, there were shares of dark stuff which is what Eggman should actually do, make it bleak and machinery just as he intended.

Here's the thing, there are plenty of ideas that Sonic Team had, but never got a chance to implement because time constraints, ergo the deadline.

It's retarted that these people with "classic sonic favoritism" schtick as they can't even realize at things what it actually meant; with that said, they could look back and fix their own acts for days.

Also, Zelda had muddled concepts that i can never got when, even with it's ties, Star Fox really had some development oversights they would just evolve from it.

It's not my best, but that's how i see it.
