Have you considered incorporating some significantly darker pencils? Maybe expanding to a 3B or a 4B? I think the additional range of values would create an incredible volume to your work.

Yes I have all the way to 8B, I just need to practice more on getting the gradiant to work out.

When was the last time you created a scale from light to dark with your tools? I find, if I ever get hung up on a value or range, it helps to look at the chiaroscuro scale I have available to me.

Truth be told, never, I've been working today on a few drawings, getting more into blacks...Need to go to work soon, but tonight I think I will do a scale....Sometimes I think I'm drawing really dark but I look at it later, and its not nearly as black as I thought...

Hmn, well, the creation of a physical scale my help as reference. It's better if you create one (so you know what your tools are capable of) but there are plenty online.
