Very impressive. I also saw your other photo of the same place, but somehow I like this one more. I think it's because the white stands out very well against the colour of the sky, and the way the straight lines and the curves in this photo coexist beautifully. Well done!

thanks!
even better, it turns out this came out better than most of the other similar shots. So the point is: take the shot, and figure it out later!

it's not really a bridge, it's just a very impressive arc

I think this would look really good in b and w, especially if cranked up the contrast....

Don't ask me why CPL is short for that

True. I dunno, I think I may have got a cheap one, but mine actually lowers the saturation on the sky. It looks better when I photoshop the sky darker...

I guess I should go for Hoya. My brother bought me a kood 77mm for my fat 10-20mm lens. I guess I could get a small Hoya for my 18-55

As a compositional piece of work this is pretty-much awesome; there's a strong geometric feeling that is enhanced by the cold colour toning of the piece. I'm also particularly fond of the gradient in the sky; is that how the image was captured or was it created in post-processing? Either way, this is an impressive image.

It's an awesome gradient in the sky, either way. I need to start getting crazy filters myself at some point soon, I just have an ND8 and a R72 just now and I haven't even tried the infrared one yet. You're most welcome, it's an eye-catching image.

not trying to promote myself, but i just got an R72 and it's really great! Fun to use and addictive, i must admit, i now go out only to take pixtures in infrared! Check these out:

Yeah, I noticed those when I went through your gallery. Serenity III is particularly impressive. Do you have any hints or tips when it comes to taking images with a R72? I assume I'm going to need to use a tripod and a relatively long exposure time 'cause of the density of the filter.

well after the first shotts i found out that one of the most importand factors for a succesfull IR photo is the correct white balance. That's very importand because if taken wrong, the green of the leaves wont come out white and from what i know that's not fixable in CS, even if you've taken the image in RAW.Other than that, keep in mind that you'll need to focus first, then turn to manual focus to prevent the camera from changing the correct focus as it tries to fix on something. In my k100d exposeure times are not that big, a couple of seconds depending on how shiny it is that day. Try it out and see, it's fun!
