up to you. i use adblock but disable it for adfly, as i'm sure do most people who download via the link. it is safe! i wouldn't use it otherwise.

hi,

in this case it's only icons so i don't really mind, however i feel like i shouldn't make an exception to my credit rule otherwise other people will see this comment and think it's okay for them to not credit me too. so i have to say if you are not linking back or mentioning my username in any way on your livejournal, then please don't use my textures.

Hiya, 

Thank you for saying that, and I understand that but if I was to credit every person of the textures I use, I would have a list of almost 20 to 100 credits to list as I post all my icons on my graphics page because I use multiple textures in just one icon. That is an exhausting process, however, I will remove your textures from my computer. Thanks for your time.

hey,

if you don't want to provide credits for each icon set, it's as simple as recording the username of every resource you download from and storing it in a document, then linking that document somewhere with easy access in your livejournal. for example mine is this: docs.google.com/document/d/1qG… and it's linked on my page in my deviantID. 

most resource-makers are fine with being credited this way, including me.

Hiya,

I remember starting one of these back when I started making icons but I have not idea where the file is, it might be on my old computer. I will work on getting a new one started. I just was so busy with college, writing, and running Community challenges over at Livejournal that I didn't have much time to do it, and I guess I kind of forgot about it.

I also thought that all members on here that said they wanted credit meant that I had to come back here everytime I used their textures to give them the heads up that I made an icon with their texture, and that was a lot of work and would take too much time for me (honestly it would take the joy out of making the icons for me) and when they said to link back, I thought the same thing. So I normally tried to stay away from anyone that said credit/link back required.

I didn't know if they would accept just making a resources post. I do have a disclaimer on Graphics Journal though. 

Thanks for reminding me about this, though I am still leery of having to come back here every time to link my work.

when /i/ say link back, i mean on your credits provide a link back to my page (not sure if that's what other people mean or not). this is more aimed at people on deviantart, who can easily link back to other DA users in the description when they post a graphic. but i know on forums and such, they tend to just have a general credits list linked instead - so that's who i'm aiming at when i say the part about 'mention my username'. 

if someone seems strict, maybe you'll want to message them to check if crediting this way is fine or not. but it's really up to you - you could have never asked for my permission and carried on making icons with my textures in without crediting, and i would never have known. so it's on your conscience, i guess? xD i used to not credit properly but after starting to make resources and realise the time and effort it takes to make them, it felt wrong to not give people credit where they were owed.

Thank you, I am trying to make sure I get everyone, man on man with the number of resources I have stored on the computer it is going to take forever LOL.

Okay, if I post anything on DA using one of your textures I will link your name then.  

I think many are pretty laid back about it but I know what you mean. You're right I could have done that because there is nothing stopping people from doing that. Yeah, it is a bad habit because it was so time-consuming to me, but I am trying to fix that
