This gouache was inspired in part by the work of M.C. Escher, who got me started on the study of curvilinear perspective. Hence the fisheye look.Related content

This is so cool. I've tried to figure out curvilinear perspective as well, but haven't quite got it yet. I assume there must be tutorials around, but I want to work it out for myself

Fab perspective! Did you use a reference grid to help map out the lines and vanishing points? This painting is like five point perspective. Really great job

this is beautiful, i knew where you drew your inspiration from the instant i saw it as Escher is one of my favorites too. this is definitely one of the more interesting DD's today, good job
