This kind of "slashing" technique has a very organic feeling. It enhances the look of the various surfaces and makes an interesting abstract contrast with the realism of your foundation.

I'll always say your compositions are brilliant... but it's really the mood that wins here. This picture has a lot of emotive value. The colours are a perfect match.
