I've fired that before. It was like catching a sledge-hammer swing with my hand. But surprisingly the .44 was worse.

I've fired the .44Mag from Ruger revolver and it was quite ok.. Don't you mean .454 Casull or something like that?

it was a scoped .44 magnum. But I think the bullet was custom so it had a bit more kick. The reason the .500 was easier (I say easier in a relative term

Depends on the model, I think Taurus .44Mag is available with ports too. But they usually compensate more of the lift than the recoil.

It's just a compact camera, the shutter speed was 1/8sec and it was taken from hand with no tripod. I think that for these conditions it's pretty good
