Bartholomew Magen was a criminal who impersonated a scientist named Dr. Paul Dent; the inventor of a device intended to erase facial scars. However upon testing the device on himself, Dent's creation erased Magen's entire face. Taking the alias of the Fantastic Dr. No-Face, Bartholomew decided to become a super criminal intent on destroying the faces of statues and paintings due to his newfound hatred of faces; all while attempting to frame the real Dr. Paul Dent for the crimes, but was eventually defeated by Batman and Robin, who discovered his identity, and cleared Dr. Dent's name.
