Description Prologue~Something is coming

Loud music was taking dominance of the room as the night's visitors took their place on the dance floor.  No one could hear each other whilst dancing and it was only when they went to the bar for a drink that any other sound could be audible.  Had he not put his phone on vibrate, the boy wouldn't have had to disappoint his dance partner to go answer it.

Outside in the cold, wintery air of the darkness, the boy fought to keep balance as his stomach expressed a desire to expel its contents.  Looking down at his mobile phone, the sprite of another phone ringing was shown with the name "Daniel" in bold underneath it.

Flipping the phone open, he answered, his voice slurred and heavy "Heyyyyy Danny Boy, you're missing one killer night maaan."

From the other end of the phone, Daniel coldly replied, "Whatever man, that doesn't matter right now, are you watching the news?"

"Whaaaat?  Dude, you gotta chill out man."

An exaggerated sigh came from the speaker of the phone. "You're drunk again, aren't you Joe?"

"Mayyybe.  I still don't get why you don't drink man.  I can garun…. Garuan…. Guarantee you that you'll get laid if you'd just loosen up a little."

In an apartment building several miles away from Joe's location, Daniel was sitting in front of a computer monitor with a television playing behind him.  At the bottom of the screen, "BREAKING NEWS" was displayed in bold, red letters as a woman behind a news desk read robotically off her teleprompter the warning for people to stay indoors pending the meteors that crashed just outside the town.

Finding this more than a little suspicious, the boy was quick to open his internet connection to check any astrological reports regarding this anomaly.  Having studied primarily in oceanic occurrences, it took a while and quite a few Google searches to find what he was looking for.

"Look Joe, just get somewhere safe.  Meteors have crashed just outside of town, it's all over the news… but something doesn't quite fit."

From the speakers, his Skype call to Joe replied "Wait, wut?"

Taking his glasses off, Daniel rubbed his eyes suppressing another sigh.  "The news is saying that meteors landed outside of town, but the reporters are also warning us to stay indoors.  It doesn't make sense.  There's been no sign of terrestrial upheaval nor have there been any readings on any of the Richter scales.  Now try and get your alcohol saturated brain to think for a second, why would we be warned to stay away from someplace when what they claim happened evidently did not happen?"

"Dude, you gotta slow down with the big words and stuff, heh.  Just come on down here and have a drink.  There's a hot blonde with your name on her."

Moving his mouse over the "end call" button on the screen, Daniel did not hesitate to press it.  "Idiot.  There's something going on here and I plan to find out what it is."

He then pulled up another window displaying an article titled "Something is coming."
