Just showing my fandom of this show. You would think that the “Dirty Pair” would be some fan service anime, but not really.It more of a 80′s neon sci-fi guilty pleasure. I always saw Yuri and Kei as elegant, probably because they weren’t shameless like in the “DP Flash” iteration.The one thing I did love about “Flash” was it gave a tragic unofficial ending to Yuri and Kei’s adventures. Unofficial, because they renamed the original pairing to Molly and Iris, at least in the dub anyway.
Back in 2001 when I first the saw show, it was the only other anime that I was in to that showed women besides Tenchi Muyo, and Dragon Ball. I remembered at the time that most did not have an inspiring figure at times due to the animation quality, or they wore too much clothing to concealing the figure. I know there were a lot of other shows at the time that presented the female figure more prominently, but Dirty Pair was the one I took notice on.
