Description
The advanced compact city ship without it's control tower. Here you can see the docking mounts in the hole left at the centre of the city for the tower to latch on to when present. The hole provides clearance for the tower's engines to fire at high thrust for take off and final approach for docking. There is magnetic guidance in the docking system and the hole is heavily reinforced to withstand the tower's engines.
The city can operate entirely without the tower via a couple of auxiliary control suites. And while both the tower and city have ZPM rooms, they also have powerful capacitors able to keep the city fully operational when ZPMs aren't available for months (or even a few years with non essential systems turned off) including the use of it's intergalactic hyperdrive. These capacitors can be charged in a variety of ways, including a direct stellar infusion system, like that on the Destiny or a feed from something like a naquadah generator or similar.
