As a huge Halo nerd I love this. Just the awesome scale and size of the ships and installations in the Halo universe have always intrigued me. Especially the size of the Covenant Supercarrier seen in Reach and the Unyielding Hierophant from Halo First Strike.Β

Huh... I pictured the Unyielding Hierophant as being bigger. <=\

To the best of my knowledge there was no 'official' image of the Unyielding Hierophant. Yours certainly aligns faithfully to Nylund's description in First Strike. Having now seen 'Unyielding', the final Terminal video from the Master Chief Collection, I can't help but notice that they took your interpretation wholesale.

You are absolutly correct, had this design for more than 3 years posted for everyone to see so it was quite a shock to see it in an official Halo game, would have been nice if they'd asked first, at least give me the chance to iron out the design flaws.

I had wondered if they'd contacted you prior, rether cheeky of them. Then again they did copy and paste whole sections of halopedia for their Halo encyclopedia. So I guess there was prescedent.

Kinda makes you realise how screwed humanity is against the Covenant in space. We can win the ground war, but space is where it matters.

Too true, also if the forerunners ever did return in force then humanity may once again be seriously outmatched.

Yeah, but humanity has something the forerunners don't have. Sierra 117 and a habit of winning in desperate situations.

i may have made this comment previously (but I can't go back in the comments to find it since this ipad I'm using won't let me rrrrrhhh!!!!)
but I've always wondered what the scale of a Forerunner Sentinel Constructor ship was in relation to the rest of these ships... they appear to be more than a mile long and two of these are seen in Halo 2.Β

U mean the one in Halo 3, u see them neer the Ark strip mining a planetoid? I know someof the larger sentinel classes go beyond this scale.

sorry for the late reply... my computer is broke bawwww.
I don't recall seeing Sentinel constructor ships in Halo3 (just the planetoid lolz). Must be that long since I played Halo 3!! Its just a guess the size of the crashed ship in Halo 2, its scale (once you've gone through the ship and out the other side) is quite massive... almost like another Sentinel wall. Do they come in different sizes? There's not much info on em...but would be interesting to get some sort of scale against other ships (Covenant, unsc etc).

DAYUM!!! U rubbed it in too hard. But I thought that since the UNSC Infinity is so huge, that it would compare to an Assault Carrier. My favorite frigate is the UNSC Grafton. What's yours?

The Forward unto Dawn, sliced in half and it still has its uses, fave UNSC ship overall would be the Iroquois for the Keyes loop alone.

Lol, these are the smallest of the group when u consider the 100km Forerunner fortress ships, High charity, the lesser and greater Arks, the Dyson(ONYX) and micro-dyson(REQUIEM) spheres not to mention the 10km and 30km Halo rings, I may consider doing a chart for these in future

Truly a mastery of scaling and depiction, my friend!!!
I especially love how you separated both the UNSC and Covies into two different groups: really helps to tell who's who!!!
BTW, since it'd be dreadfully rude to not ask first, would it be alright with you if I used some of these to make a depiction of my own fleets???

Aww nice!!!
I actually was going to use at least seven supercruisers to act as secondary or tertiary capital ships in my fleet.
Remind me, are they the ships with the "sniper" energy projectors like the one in fall of reach?

D4RKST0RM99 In reply to CYBERDYNE101 [2013-03-03 07:49:45 +0000 UTC]
Yes, not sure if you are going for realism here but their canβt be many of these ships around, you have to think of the infrastructure that built it, thatβs why the UNSC could only build one Infinity, it was assembled over decades using vital resources and funds that could have went towards building an entire fleet, so if you have several of these overpowered ships it would mean the Covenant would have limitless resources, their only limits would be manpower, not to mention the upkeep of every ship- cost of maintenance, repairs, refuel and resupply, not to mention the constant calibrations the powerful weapons would need, to run a fleet that size and power would be inordinately expensive.
