This year I was able to visit Iceland again and due to the Covid-19 pandemic I was able to experience Iceland far from the overtourism state which was reported by many people only 6 months back.
I was also able to go on a 4 day hike to cover the famous Laugavegur trail with my buddy NicolasAlexanderOtto and hence experienced a more intimate encounter with the Icelandic highlands compared to last time where we've been roadtripping mainly.
On this very evening we got really lucky with the sunset and were able to shoot grand landscapes from a 360 degree view.
People from the camp close-by have been telling us that we got really lucky with the weather as in the last days and weeks it was very wet and foggy up there, apparently the sun didn't show up often.
This made the display in this picture even more memorable, being lucky once in a while and getting to see the Icelandic highlands immersed in beautiful warm sunset light.
I like this view because it contains the elements I got to love during our hike: the curvy rolling hills, volcanos and glaciers, in this case Eyjafjallajökull.
