: Can't say I know him, but I saw a guy like that, yes.
: Did you by chance see where he ran off to, then?
: He went in that direction. *points in the opposite direction Gerard went*

*the two soldiers leave*
: Gerard, you can come out now. I just sent those two guys on a wild goose chase.
: Thanks a million, Erza. How's life been treating you?
: Not good. Can't find any decent work because I'm not tied to any existing guild.
