Decided to redo an old picture ( [link] ), and participate in the archive contest at TLKFAA. Two birds with one stone. :3
I did change some things though... because I thought the faded-gray bg added to the effect I wanted.
And yes, Simba doesn't really look much older here... even with my vain attempt at bags and crooked wiskers as well as a wicked mane. I think I was too worried about him not looking like Simba so I didn't take it far enough.... I'll probably play around with this idea some more. I like the idea of them as geezers.

LOL, I really really really REALLY want to draw some Simba looking geezerly and weird.... I was a little worried that I might distort him so he was unrecognizable. I guess he's just at his prime in this picture and I'll do the ones where he is REALLY old later.
I mean, I didn't even pull the gray mane card! WTF!
I may have to use your picture as a reference. Hehehe.

Maybe it is his color what makes him look young still, all shiny and new⦠maybe a duller colour would age him? first thing I noticed was the unkept chin. The chin works, I say, that's what made me go "is he oold?"
I love Nala's expression. She's so calm and so proud like she is happy with what life has given her⦠and what she has done with it. A happy old girl *hugs*

LOL yeah, thats more than likely true. I always tend to give my lions super long necks. XD Probably doesn't help that I draw a lot of giraffes lately, or that I sketched this directly over the original so kinda got some of the original proportions from the old picture.

Between the change of full-time work to part-time, worrying bout payments for my new house(1 yr anniversary this past Jan
um..
It's been a whirlwind of changes from moving out of my parents home to my own to now.
I can't imagine what it's been like for my mom n' dad money wise esp. with my big bro and me, schooling and all. *shudders* must've been nerve raking for sure at least!
Anyways, in a nutshell, it's been a pretty crazy from last Jan '10 to now. But I'm gettin through it all and life's been treating me good too!
