I actually really like this one a lot. Especially the brush work. The texture works well with this composition. There are too many "paintings" out there that were done entirely with a hard-round brush at %50 opacity. You know the ones... Good work DaaRia.

Of course it's not, it's a digital image displaying on your computer monitor.... Monitors don't display in paint, nor is your monitor made out of canvas. Now stop being so damn uppity and defensive about your opinion.

Well my problem is that I am assuming most people commenting thought (like me) this was a digital painting. Its only when i read the description i realised it isn't. That is cheating. You can't take a photo and run it through some filters then post it on art website. It isn't art.

I've never seen photoshop render anything like this. It looks more like he took the screen shot and then started painting on top of it. But you'll need the artists word on that to be sure exactly how this painting came to fruition. I'd agree, simply running a photo through filters isn't the most creative thing in the world.. but there is no need to get all offended and start vomiting mean comments all over the place.

I mean ... from the community perspective ... what is the the problem anyway ? Art is the act of creating something. Even if its only a copy of an existing piece.
Many famous artists even back in ancientΒ times did exactly that.

Also ... if you look at the way many concept artists work you will find that they often do the same. They use shots of models, themselves whatever they can find to paint over it in order to get a better feeling for perspective and proportions ... still they create marvelous pieces to look at.
