He is a rear-fanged venomous colubrid, yes! Except his venom is not powerful enough to kill or even hospitalize.

They are pretty good snakes, but they can deliver a painful [and venomous] bite. Not deadly, swelling, redness, pain for a few days.
Artyom here does a lot of bluff strikes where he just hits my hand with his face and pretend he's fierce.
